Notice of edit warring

edit

  You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Akshata Murty. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Adakiko (talk) 11:10, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hello, I have initiated a discussion on the article's Talk page (as instructed by mentor). Cockatoo17 (talk) 11:18, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
I would say that you are both edit warring. But @Cockatoo17's aims are at least encyclopaedic, neutral and the better path. CT55555 (talk) 13:53, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. I am new to wiki and was strictly following guidelines but then this notice on my first day, without initiating discussion, from an experienced editor got me really confused as to how things work here. Cockatoo17 (talk) 14:07, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia can be daunting at first. There is a labyrinth of rules, some appear to contradict. Don't let this put you off. The motivation of your edits is good and you are a positive addition to the encyclopaedia.
Basically the norm here is if you disagree with someone, have a chat on the talk page, which you have done. All is good. CT55555 (talk) 16:15, 5 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. That is very encouraging. Cockatoo17 (talk) 07:44, 6 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
