Mass welcome messages
editHello CommanderF1, I saw that you are mass-welcoming users with almost always zero edits. I want to inform you that this is most likely pointless as many, many accounts created a day never become active. In addition to that, new users tend to go and aks the first person that they meet, which would be you in this case, you, and it isn't exacly helpfull if the welcomer is themself a newbie. You may want to look at Wikipedia:Welcoming committee for more information about welcoming new users. Victor Schmidt (talk) 11:44, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
- Sure, Noted your points. CommanderF1 (talk) 14:58, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
- That still applies. Note that 79.1% of all your edits have been to user talk pages so far, so I wouldn't wonder if someone might bring up a WP:NOTHERE argument soon. I suggest that you pick one of the many things that can be done here, including, but not limited to:
- fight vandalism
- Create new articles
- Pick one of the various cleanup categories and try to improve Wikipedia in that way
- patrol new pages
- And probbably more. 217.68.167.73 (talk) 12:26, 22 June 2020 (UTC)
- Noted, will do some other task on Wikipedia.CommanderF1 (talk) 12:30, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

editHello CommanderF1. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:CommanderF1. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=CommanderF1|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. MrOllie (talk) 14:41, 11 December 2021 (UTC)
- No, I never received a single penny from anyone for contributing on Wikipedia. CommanderF1 (talk) 06:45, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
