Hello, Congenialityjones, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Yusef Hakeem

edit

In response to your message on User:Shalor (Wiki Ed)'s talk page about adding reference numbers and fixing headings, I'm afraid you've got bigger problems than that right now. Unfortunately, the article you wrote about Yusef Hakeem (your last version is here) duplicates the topic of an existing article namely, Yusuf Hakeem (note different spelling). After your last edit, Wbm1058 (talk · contribs) noticed this duplication, and removed your content from the misspelled article, and turned it into a redirect. You can see what it looks like now, here. Don't worry, none of your content is completely gone, you can still recover it, by clicking the View History tab on that page.

As far as what to do now, I would start by dropping your original question about references and headings for the time being, and checking with Shalor about how to properly merge the content you wrote, with the content that is already there in the existing article. You could also have a look at WP:MERGE. Once you're done with that, if there's any content left that still is subject to the references/heading question, you could take that up again, at that point.

This is a bump in the road, but it is not an insurmountable one, and it isn't your fault. Because it may cause you some delay, it's probably worth mentioning it to your teacher. HTH, Mathglot (talk) 11:44, 28 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

  • Thanks Mathglot! Congenialityjones, what I would recommend here it to look and see what is missing in the main page. If it's something that you have in your draft then I would merge it into the existing article following the directions here. You can absolutely ask me for help at any time as well, of course.
