2002 Gujarat violence

edit

Conradx, I am not able to comment on which version is better. As the person who protected the page, I have to remain neutral about the topic. Protecting the page is not an expression of my feeling that one version is better than another, not is it supposed to reward "aggressive editing" as you claim. I can see no point in unprotecting until you and Wik can come to some sort of agreement. If I did, you would simply continue to revert each other. The talk page shows no discussion at all since October 28th, and your latest comments seem more of a personal attack on Wik than an attempt to solve the dispute. Perhaps you need someone who is willing to act as a mediator between Wik and yourself if you can not come to any agreement yourselves. I have asked Brian Corr if he would do this as he is the person who originally listed it on the current disputes page. Angela 03:06, Nov 8, 2003 (UTC)

It doesn't matter which version is currently in place as it is only a temporary measure. Your version is still available through the page history. Hopefully whoever mediates it will be able to get Wik to discuss it as well, even though you claim he currently has no incentive to do so. I don't believe that is the case anyway, as Wik is aware the protection, and hence his version, are only temporary. Angela 03:43, Nov 8, 2003 (UTC)

I am in the process of reviewing (I would not characterize it as "investigating") 2002 Gujarat violence, the edit history of the article and its talk page, the various comments linked to this page, and the email traffic here, here, here, here, and here (and a few other threads) on the mailing list related to it. Even though the page is unprotected, I would ask all parties involved to hold off editing this article voluntarily until I can offer a few suggestions, which I will do within a few hours. Thanks for your forbearance, BCorr ¤ Брайен 23:49, 10 Nov 2003 (UTC)
