editHello, Constituto. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Blablubbs|talk 11:25, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hello, Blablubbs|talk. Thank you for your message. I do not have an external relationship with Kolby, just an interest in his art. I am quite new to this, so I may have edited uncorrectly, and I in case apologize for that. Best, Constituto (talk) 11:40, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for responding. What prompted you to write about him? And, if I may ask, is there a reason you almost exclusively edit on weekdays at times that match European working hours quite well? Blablubbs|talk 11:45, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hi again. I can answer that very accurately, in fact. I am very into civil rights and racism topics, having close black friends. Kolby's 1998 painting of a black pope was the first I saw of him and really touched me. It made me interested in his art long ago, and I came to know much more of his artworks. I too live in Norway, so I naturally work at daytime. I work with design and I discovered Wikipedia, finding it interesting to edit a bit. I am now working on an article about another Norwegian artist, in the street art genre. I hope this may answer your questions. Best, Constituto (talk) 11:58, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- I am happy to give you my full name, Blablubbs|talk, and my email address. If you would wish, you may contact me also in that way? I sincerely wish to contribute here in a professional way, and do not want to cause any work for you. Best, Constituto (talk) 12:59, 17 February 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, Blablubbs|talk. Was that clarifying it a bit? I feel bad about my editing has led to a problem, so I wonder how we could sort this out? Is the fact that I have made edits at daytime the problem? I have like many people had less to do at my work the last Corona year than in many years, and I have had lots of spare time. I have tried to make my edits according to how I have found other Wikipedia articles and understood the rules, and I don't really know what I could have done diffirently. Regarding the new artist article I work on, I now don't know how to proceed as someone could say I know this artist too. Which I don't. How may I correctly write about living people in my own country to avoid getting a COI tag on the article? I have enjoyed editing and would like to do more, and I of course wish to do all as correct as possible. I would be grateful if you could you advice me on this. Best, Constituto (talk) 18:38, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- I have no interest in your real life identity. However, could you please explain your relationship to EditNor (talk · contribs)? Blablubbs|talk 20:28, 18 February 2021 (UTC)
- OK. Absolutely, I know EditNor back from my my studies. He joined Wikipedia some time ago, and we plan to edit together also on the new article I mentioned to you. I hope it is OK to know and edit together with other Wiki contributors? Best, Constituto (talk) 12:17, 19 February 2021 (UTC)
- Is this OK, Blablubbs|talk? I don't want my edits to lead to tags on articles, so it would be good to sort out if anything needs to be done and in case what? Best, Constituto (talk) 15:56, 20 February 2021 (UTC)

- Constituto Can you please clarify how this is your own work? CUPIDICAE💕 16:08, 20 February 2021 (UTC)
- @Praxidicae: Back in 2019 I contacted Norwegian photographer Paal Alme who took the photo and got his permission to upload it on Wikimedia Commons. He gave up any rights to the photo. But I was then not aware that an email from him with the standard Wikimedia text stating that he would free the image to Wikimedia shold have been sent to them. As you see a byline states that he has taken the photo. Back then I was all new to Wikipedia editing and believed it was enough to get permission from a person and then upload an image on Wikimedia. I now see that I should have uploaded it in another way, and I will now of course contact Alme again so he can write the standard email to Wikimedia so all is in order for this photo.
- Let me be clear about a thing: I have done all my editing in good faith. I have sincerely tried to contribute here at Wikipedia. When you are new errors can occur. Things can be done in a wrong way, and that is how we learn to edit correctly. I was contacted by another Wiki editor who put on a tag at the article and initiated a dialogue but now has stopped replying to me. That is not how we should communicate in here, I think.
- And now I see that you have removed a great part of the Ross Kolby article, calling it "spammy nonsense". I am somewhat surprised that you edit in this manner. I found that text to be explanatory, neutral and based on the Norwegian reliable sources and references. Now it is not much left of the article. I see on your user profile that you are dedicated to the BLM movement. Did you also find the text about Kolby's painting on the racism topic - The Black Pope - to be "spammy nonsense"? It's theme is directly associated with the BLM movement, but you removed it alltogether. I try to be respectful, polite and patient in my editing, communicating and learning here at Wikipedia. Can you please clarify why you edit in a manner where you delete great parts of a carefully and seriously written text and call it "spammy nonsense"? I have great respect for all the experienced editors in here, and I try to learn and do all correct. But I find it dicouraging and uneccesary to use language as "spammy nonsense" when editing in here. Who is to say what is "spammy nonsense" or not? I really think it is important to be respectful towards oneanother in here. Best, Constituto (talk) 20:53, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
- Blablubbs What is the status of this matter now? Is Praxidicae’s clean up of the article sufficient for the COI tag’s demand of such? Or is anything else needed? As I have said I never wanted to cause any problems with my editing, so it would be good to sort out if more needs to be done. I don’t really know how I can further contribute to solve this, apart from if what's ultimately needed is that I refrain from editing on this article again. Then I will agree to that, as I have no interest in causing or being in a conflict here at Wikipedia. Best, Constituto (talk) 16:28, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
