I don't see how it could, although it may be a question on how the tool counts rather than your actual total; the only "true" authoritative number is that which you see in your preferences. For instance, the implementation X's edit counter on the Tool Labs cannot yet count edits which you have made but which have since been deleted. — Coren ^(talk) 15:11, 13 November 2013 (UTC)

In other news, I noticed that zum some edit-history-entries of a username that had worked on a now-deleted article... disappeared. Is that cricket, or kosher, or per-the-vill-of-Hawking-ze-Great? In this case, the username was only active for a few hours, and only edited a single mainspace article, about ten edits total, then that article was AfD'd, so the username looks like they have 'zero' edits, except in a couple of tools that report the true count. Toolserver is shutting down on 1/6/14

Hello there! What does it actually mean that "toolserver is shutting down on 1/6/14?" Are we going to completely lose the edit counter, charts and pies, etc.? Any insight would be appreciated! — Dsimic (talk) 15:09, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

The actual toolserver infrastructure is being phased out for a number of reasons; but a new replacement has been made to host tools of all sorts: the Tool Labs where tool maintainers are welcome to move their code. Very many of the tools that were on the toolserver have already moved – the project has been available for about six months already – and I expect most of what is left will follow suit shortly. — Coren ^(talk) 16:29, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

Deleted edits

(tps) Coren obviously the best person to answer, but I believe it is the case that the old toolserver tool did include deleted edits. However, tools are being migrated to Tool Labs (see 2 posts above), and the tool initially created in Tool Labs did not handle deleted edits. It took some time, but now the new tool does handle them. Simply a case of many competing priorities on very finite resources.--S Philbrick(Talk) 13:27, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Let me add my congratulations that this task is done, and add a small, personal historical note. I cannot look at the deleted edit counts without recalling that, very early in my wiki career, I vowed never to have a deleted edits, thinking that a deleted edit arose from an edit so bad it needed removal.
