editHello, CorinneWestbrook. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Ludovico Technique (band), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted.
Given you are the author of some of the sources, strongly suggests you have a COI or were paid to create the article. Please read through the above along with the links and make the appropriate declaration (either COI or paid) as required. If you have questions or need help, you can ask at the Teahouse. - Hello! I am a journalist and write about many bands, Ludovico Technique being one. I was not contracted by the band to create their page, nor am I in any way affiliated with the band as a manager, member or other employee, but some of the sources are my published pieces at major news sites. Each one is vetted for accuracy and independent from the band. I chose to write this page, I was not asked or paid. Let me know if this still qualifies as a conflict of interest and I will happily declare it :) CorinneWestbrook (talk) 19:30, 13 June 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Corinne, thank you for your thorough reply here and also saw your question at the Teahouse. I agree you do not have a COI with the band so I have removed that notice (aka "tag") from the article and you can also remove the COI declaration from your User page regarding the band. As stated at the Teahouse, you do have a COI with Metal Injection but your note on your User page is sufficient. I do encourage you to stick around and continue contribute to Wikipedia's coverage of music. You may find WikiProject Music helpful and feel free to ask questions on the main talk page (many of the sub-projects are no longer active so best to use the main project). - Thank you so so much! I appreciate that. I plan to contribute more on music projects because I do love writing about it :) CorinneWestbrook (talk) 14:04, 16 June 2022 (UTC)
