Username concern

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "CotyCorporate", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it represents an organization and implies shared use; it doesn't represent an individual person. Companies are prohibited from having Wikipedia accounts. Only individual people can. You can change your username to something like "Jane Smith at Coty" if you want to retain a link to your organization, but your username must clearly belong to one individual and not be shared. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. ~Anachronist (talk) 23:28, 6 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Also, see WP:PAID and comply with it. As a paid editor, you must disclose this relationship publicly, as you agreed to abide by Wikimedia:Terms of Use when you created this account. Thanks. ~Anachronist (talk) 23:32, 6 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. Thank you. Request to update username

edit

I have placed a request to update my username because I was unaware that we were not able to create one as a company. I believe that I was extremely transparent in indicating my COI, which is why I wrote a request for edit on the "talk" page, in addition to created a username that clearly indicated my COI and that I was requesting the change as a member of the Coty organization (usage of "we" and "I" were included in my talk page post). Request reason:

I was under the impression that my username was enough to indicate my COI with the Coty organization. I have requested a change for a new username "CotyJessica" so that it is clear I am a single person, and I am an employee of the Coty organization (ie: a paid contributor). Please advise if this is alright. CotyCorporate (talk) 18:22, 7 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Accept reason:

The new username is acceptable, and since you seem to be willing to abide by Wikipedia's requirements for paid editors and the conflict of interest guidelines (and thank you for that, by the way!) there's no reason to maintain this block. You may want to add the {{Paid}} template to your userpage for full transparency. Yunshui  08:26, 8 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Congratulations on being unblocked. Please review WP:PAID and add the appropriate tag to your user page User:JessicaCoty. Thanks. ~Anachronist (talk) 23:21, 8 December 2017 (UTC)Reply
