Mads Timm
editIn order to simply label the conviction as xenophobia you need some sort of source. The website you referred to in your editing summary is pretty skewered in its presentation of the case. It claims that Timm's conviction was "a[n] act of unjust" - even though witnessess described him racing against Flannagan with 140 km/h, the two spurring eachother on - and that the woman in the car being hit was to blame, when it was Flannagan who lost control of his car. Also, the website makes it sound like he was in jail until May 2006 - he was released in June 2005, after serving 3 months in jail.
One thing that did lead to such a severe punishment of Timm, was that he did not plea guilty like Flannagan.(Ekstra Bladet, February 12, 2005) If he had pleaded guilty he would definitely have gotten off lighter - compared to Flannagan's 8 months conviction. Timm himself did point out, that the incident received so much attention because of their affiliation with Manchester United (Fyens Stiftstidende, March 3, 2005), and indeed many accidents had happened on the same road, just without semi-famous people involved.(Fyens Stiftstidende, March 5, 2005)
So, claiming xenophobia as the chief reason for his conviction is very one-eyed and without regard of the actual conviction. But there were some skewering factors, like their employment at Manchester United - this was at the same time Roy Keane stood trial for striking a 16-year old boy in 2004, so there was a media frenzy around Manchester United. Sexual harassment
editI did not delete the references to the laws, I moved them up to the "Evolution of sexual harassment law," which is a little higher up. (I mentioned this in the note when I made the change.)The section you added to is really about descriptions of sexual harassment. That a few references to specific laws remain is only because I haven't been able to find the dates the laws were enacted or amended. As soon as I get each date, all references to specific laws will be moved to the "Evolution" section.
Regarding the situation with the model, if you can find a reference that refers to what happened as "sexual harassment," please go ahead and add it back, though it would fit more appropriately under "Varied behaviors and circumstances" as an example of the confusion in people's understanding sexual harassment.
BTW, thanks for adding the information. It's a great addition.Aine63 01:45, 5 August 2006 (UTC)
- Also, could you add a link to the sources of the information you added--both the laws and the description of how sexual harassment is defined in Denmark? If you don't have web site links, you can add the book or pamphlet in the references. Thanks! Aine63 21:35, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
Edit summaries
editI have noted that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! Category:Behavior Modification
edit(Response to your comment on my Talk page.) Actually, there is no such category. I discovered this when I clicked on the category link at the top of an article. See what happens when you click on | Category:Behavior_Modification -- also try | Category:Behavior_modification.--orlady 20:21, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, I see that you created that category, so it exists, but only in a sort of Wikipedia twilight zone. Unfortunately, it is set up as a redirect page (perhaps by you, or perhaps by someone else who edited it invisibly -- I suppose maybe a page was moved by an administrator).
- When a person clicks on the category link, they don't see the category page. Instead they are directed to http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Behavior_Modification , which takes them to Behavior modification. The URL that gets you to the category page is http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Category:Behavior_Modification&redirect=no .
- Anyway, the category as currently constituted is not actually about the topic of behavior modification. If it were, it would need to include Behavior modification and B. F. Skinner, for example, as well as Behavior modification facility.
- Frankly, I think that writers of articles who are equating the term "behavior modification" with "institutions associated with WWASPS" are impugning the topic of behavior modification. (It's almost as if you had created a category called Organization and populated it only with articles about organized crime.)--orlady 21:36, 1 February 2007 (UTC)
I edited the article. The agency appears to be a legitimate accreditation agency for primary and second schools, but not for tertiary institutions.--orlady 05:13, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
I have deleted the above under CSD for attack pages, as a wholly biased attack article. Please review our policies on neutrality and verifiability before editing further.--Docg 15:18, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

editPlease take care that you're following the neutral point of view policy that governs all Wikipedia articles. Friday (talk) 16:44, 27 February 2007 (UTC)
Please do not use wikipedia for your campaigning ends. Please stay away from articles to do with youth denention, you obviously are not able to be neutral on these subjects. --Docg 13:58, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
Category:Behaviour modification
editPlease note that I have nominated Category:Behaviour modification, which you created, for deletion. You can see the reason and offer comments at Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2007 April 11#Category:Behaviour modification. —Resurgent insurgent 2007-04-11 01:40Z
- Then it is a duplicate of Category:Punishment or Category:School punishments, or even Category:Corporal punishments. —Resurgent insurgent 2007-04-11 03:59Z
- That sounds reasonable so I've withdrawn the nomination. —Resurgent insurgent 2007-04-11 07:32Z
- I put the {{category redirect}} template on the UK one marking it as the one that should be empty. A bot will transfer any articles wrongly placed there into the US category, which already has most of the articles. —Resurgent insurgent 2007-04-11 08:43Z

I edited it again (including addressing your concern). --orlady 14:04, 22 April 2007 (UTC)
Wikipedia is not the place to copy/paste "leaflet propaganda". If you can find another verifiable source which talks about the activites in this place, add it. Else, it is not convenient to have in an encyclopedia whatever is written in websites which are made to sell. Aldoman 02:12, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Mission Mountain School
editThanks for the heads up. I'll have a look at it today and will be reverting as necessary. --Pwnage8 (talk) 12:20, 7 July 2008 (UTC)
- Had a look at the article today, and it's pretty messed up. The bias is ridiculous. I reverted the biased removal of the external links by Wildrock. If there's anything else that you'd like done, let me know. --Pwnage8 (talk) 22:18, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Wikimania 2010 could be coming to Stockholm!
editI'm leaving you a note as you may be interested in this opportunity.
People from all six Nordic Wiki-communities (sv, no, nn, fi, da and is) are coordinating a bid for Wikimania 2010 in Stockholm. I'm sending you a message to let you know that this is occurring, and over the next few months we're looking for community support to make sure this happens! See the bid page on meta and if you like such an idea, please sign the "supporters" list at the bottom. Tack (or takk), and have a wonderful day! Mike H. Fierce! 09:57, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
Video
editInteresting video. Thanks for calling it to my attention. The video is several years old, as indicated by the list of programs later in the video (including Casa by the Sea, but omitting several of the current program names). (I didn't play it all the way to the end, but I made it as far as the list of programs.) The fact that the video appears on that website does not, however, provide reliably sourced information about WWASP or the relationship of that website to WWASP. I added it to the collection of links to websites that market the collection of WWASP schools because I think it is valuable for people to see those marketing websites all in one place, but it's not a source. --Orlady (talk) 01:22, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

Family School Suicide
editI have been having a very hard time trying to get a reference to the suicide that occurred in 2004 on the FFS page. I feel that while this may not hold the same weight as some of the other discussions you have taken part in that it is important to take a stand when it comes to including negative information along with the positive on the FFS wiki to keep it npov. Please take a moment to check it out I feel like im speaking one language and the other few editors posting on there are speaking another. Thanks! CoreEpic (talk) 21:15, 6 January 2009 (UTC)CoreEpic
Hej!
Tak for din tid! Mike H. Fierce! 06:01, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

editI've edited the article a bit, and renamed it. I honestly don't think it's notable, though. --Orlady (talk) 15:11, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

editDo you want it undeleted to work on it? I'm not sure of the exact article title: a link would be helpful. Maxim(talk) 01:16, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
Titles, references, links...
editHola,
Here are some housekeeping tips for you:
The titles of television programs go in italics. Episodes of programs go in "quotations".
SEE: MOS:TITLE
Don't over link (WP:OVERLINK). Link once in a section or short article prose, and call it good.
"References" are "sources".
Links are just that, links, either internal (two [[ brackets each side), or external (one [ bracket each side). Don't leave the underline_underscore in internal links. (WP:LINK)
Check your links, don't ass-u-me. If you link to Morse, where does it go? Don't make up abbreviated names. Send the reader to the article you want to them to go to.
It is better to study the manual before driving a car. A little study on the WP:Manual of Style will help this vehicle go farther with less trouble.
Thanks. > Best O Fortuna (talk) 20:17, 9 March 2012 (UTC)
