November 2016
editHello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Tony Avella. I noticed that when you added the image to the infobox, you added it as a thumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (see WP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:
|image=[[File:SomeImage.jpg|thumb|Some image caption]]
Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:
|image=SomeImage.jpg
.
There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as |caption=Some image caption
. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks! Managing a conflict of interest
editHello, TAforNY. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Tony Avella, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing) 18:19, 3 November 2016 (UTC)

editThere have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.
If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.

Oh? I didn't realize that was an issue. Just trying to update a headshot...not representing the larger office in any other way. I'll adjust my account if you'll allow it. TAforNY (talk) 18:39, 4 November 2016 (UTC)

- OK--let's see if we can find a "global renamer". Boing! said Zebedee? Acalamari? Cyberpower678? MusikAnimal? Drmies (talk) 00:46, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

- Thanks Cyberpower678! OK Cquinn--you're free to roam, but please keep it neutral: you still have a conflict of interest. Drmies (talk) 02:36, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Drmies: how is he free to roam?—cyberpowerChat:Online 13:30, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
- Cyberpower678, I thought you unblocked them too, haha. Now they're free, free as a bird, tethered only by our neutrality and COI policies. Drmies (talk) 15:35, 5 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Drmies: I'm no admin. :p. All I can do is rename. :-)—cyberpowerChat:Online 16:05, 5 November 2016 (UTC)

thanks, I'll keep that in mind and keep it neutral. 198.163.154.242 (talk) 16:32, 7 November 2016 (UTC)

editPlease stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to violate Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy by adding commentary and your personal analysis into articles, as you did at Tony Avella, you may be blocked from editing. JesseRafe (talk) 20:22, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
how did I do that? What about my edits was "adding commentary and my personal analysis into articles"? Seriously unaware. Additionally, it seems that you are accusing me of using "multiple accounts" to make edits or something. I only have one account and used it to make edits that were factually accurate. Sockpuppet investigation
editHi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Cquinn, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
JesseRafe (talk) 21:09, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
I have not in any way shape or form used more than one account ever. I'm unsure as to why this fellow user has accused me of doing so.

Request reason:
I'm not sure exactly how to phrase this but I believe that I should be unblocked because there wasn't a reason for me to be blocked in the first place. If there was, I would like to be informed what that reason was and how my edits can be improved so that this does not continue to happen. Just confused as to why a fellow user thought my actions warranted a block. Cquinn (talk) 20:47, 27 March 2018 (UTC)

The explanation is below. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 09:49, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
- Same thing you were warned about before: non-neutral editing, such as here. That colloquial "Tony" tone is already inappropriate, but you go on to celebrate your subject with a non-neutral description of their work (and the dangers of fracking), followed by some cheerful words that make it seem as if this were a one-man effort--sourced to what is clearly not a reliable secondary source.
