Notability of Rock Slope

edit

A tag has been placed on Rock Slope, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 00:48, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

My mum

edit

I love that insult. It's so generic and innoffensive in of itself, but most readers see it as highly inflammitory because of the tacit bits. Plus it's got this whole Catholic "mother as virgin" thing going for it, despite the clear logical fallicy: She wouldn't be a mum if someone hadn't... anyway, about Rock Slope:

Please don't get too cranky about it. It's been handled a bit badly all around and everyone could be a little bit nicer to each other, but it is really just business as usual: Squillions of things get deleted every day. It's not personal.

I'm happy to restore the article into someone's userspace where they can work on getting some sources for it, as long as I'm asked nicely.

PS - Despite the section above, there is no consensus that removing notes from your own talk page is forbidden. It's _frowned upon_ by some people, but not by everyone. Better to just repsond to or ignore comments than remove then I say, but that's just me.

Cranky? Me? I thought the Catholic jab was a bit below the belt, but I'm willing to let it pass. It's all just a bit of fun, isn't it? You'd bloody love the Slope if you gave them a chance - especially their 1999 opus "Rock Slope Has The Right To Children". Go and read what the reviewers have to say about them, then decide...
As for removing notes, if I had pages and pages of bilge on my user-page, like our chum Ryan, I wouldn't mind so much, but I like it clean and pure, and to have a great big rollicking telling-off as the first thing one can see, well, it sticks in my craw. Anyway, I see Ryan makes a habit of going about removing things all day long. Perhaps he'll make a good surgeon after all.Cravenmonket 15:55, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Catholics

edit

Please could you elaborate on your claim on my talk page that I hate catholics? RyanPostlethwaiteSee the mess I've created or let's have banter 16:10, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oh come on Ryan. Somewhere deep inside you there is a humourous person, isn't there? It wasn't a claim, it was a question. And when you spell "Catholic" with a small "c", it generally means "universal". Cravenmonket 16:24, 11 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

License tagging for Image:American River Bike Trail at Fair Oaks.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:American River Bike Trail at Fair Oaks.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:05, 10 August 2007 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs

edit

Hello Cravenmonket! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 687 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Proposed deletion of Marzuki Stevens

edit

The article Marzuki Stevens has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Subject does not appear to meet the notability requirements of WP:BIO

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
