Translation of Douwe Egberts
editHello,
I've finished the translation of nl:Douwe Egberts and I've merged the translation with the existing text in Douwe Egberts. Further information is placed on the talk page. I've not yet processed the request on the Wikipedia:Translation into English page, but I'll do that soon. I hope the expansion of the English article will be helpful to you. Lucky: Sorry, did not think about the 'non-notable' article rule.
Lynda Madaras
editHi, found this through Random Article. The page doesn't explain why this person is notable, only why the books are notable. I was tempted to put this up for deletion, but thought I'd ask you about it first. Is there anything you could add to the article to make it clear why Lynda Madaras is notable? Might it be better to create an article about the books instead? Cheers, JackyR 01:09, 3 February 2006 (UTC) Ok, but i don't know so much about the author, only her books.

Thanks

Since you have revert things, your comments on the talk page have been systematically removed twice. I have reverted the page both times, but thought you might like to dig a little deep into this situatuion. I will be contiuning to monitor the page, but something should be done with all the sockpuppets. Please respond with your comments on my talk page. Since I am new here I have not got many message and would like too. Sorry if that sound childish or something, but there you go. :) God Bless! (Steve 01:30, 5 March 2006 (UTC))

Image copyright problem with Image:Baeampbv.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Baeampbv.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 11:19, 12 March 2006 (UTC)
- I approve it to be deleted, being well aware of the somewebsite template and that it would be deleted in a week if the copyright or source was not found. I apparently downloaded the image some time ago; after uploading it I tried to find the source to ask permission. Apparently, the website has since gone offline. Wikitruth change
editWhile I object to the inclusion of the wikitruth.info addition to the spam blacklist in the absolute strongest terms, and consider it censorious, the fact of the matter is that Wikimedia Foundation rules prohibit attempts to circumvent the blacklist. I applaud your efforts to circumvent an immoral and weak-willed policy, but please abide by the community consensus and policy on this issue. Captainktainer 16:07, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- I also consider it censorious, but I wasn't aware that it was expressly prohibited to circumvent the blacklist. Thanks for informing me. Chris Chan {t|c} 16:24, 29 April 2006 (UTC)
- No problem. I sent the message so that an admin wouldn't get to you first and possibly block you. There are some really nasty personalities involved on the wikitruth talk page. By the way, good job on being one of the few productive and useful young editors. We get so many younger people who are vandals that it's nice to see an exception to the rule. Kelly Nelson in Wikipedia
editHi Chris,
Hey, man, just a quick note to appeal my cause. I understand the reason why I(Kelly Nelson) was pulled down almost right away. However, I would like you to know I am a person of significance, and I think others may be inspired by my achievements and adventures. I will continue to refine and add to my information as time permits, but I think what I had was a good start. Please, reconsider letting me keep my article. I see from reading your profile, you and I are alike in many ways, so I implore you as a fellow Gemini, and blue loving geek, let me keep my listing. Thanks.
Kel Nelson www.AnimatorKel.com www.AnimatorKel.com/b2
- Hi Kelly, but I'm not responsible for deleting your article. User:RasputinAXP and User:The JPS did, so contact them regarding the deletion. I cannot take personal responsibility for stuff I didn't do. Thanks ~Chris {t|c} 21:47, 2 May 2006 (UTC)
Welcome to Esperanza!
editWelcome, Cchan199206, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.
I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee comprised of JoanneB, FireFox and Titoxd. The next set of elections will be in April, we will keep you updated about the results. Because you are a new member, you are not able to vote in these elections, but you will be more than welcome to take part in the elections in June.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Celestianpower by email or talk page or the Esperanza talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC Tutorial written by one of our members. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Your RfA
editYou forgot to accept your own self-nom, and failed to answer the questions. Both can generate a lot of automatic Oppose votes, regardless of your merit, as they are looked upon a sign of sloppiness. I went ahead and removed your RfA from the main page to allow you to finish it up, but you may replace it without doing so if you'd prefer. Tijuana BrassE@ 00:29, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

RE: Evanescence
editSorry about that. Please add it back. —RJN 21:59, 3 June 2006 (UTC)
- Why did you change "Evanescence is" to "Evanescence are"? Evanescence is a proper collective noun and in American English, collective nouns are treated as singular. In British English, it would be correct to use "are," but not in American English. Since Evanescence is an American band, let us stick with the American English grammar. —RJN 22:38, 3 June 2006 (UTC)

Crush userboxes
editHi, I noticed that you added categories to the various "crush" userboxes that I am hosting in my user space. The use of categories in userboxes is highly controversial, and I would prefer that they not be added because I do not want to risk the deletion of the userbox. As you can see on my userbox subpage, the related categories are listed along with the userbox, should someone wish to use them. It may seem like a small thing, but it is much less controversial to manually add the category to your page than to automatically include it through a userbox. —Mira 02:41, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- Understood, I'll add cats manually to my userboxes page from now on. ~Chris (e) 13:48, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

If wiki's definition of "vandalism" "is any honest, sincere, comment which claims racism", then, you certainly don't need my contributions.
Why was there no discussion-page, comment-page, several hours ago??
If I truly would intend to hide my location, I suppose that I would change accounts each month, or whatever.
Why do you insist on presenting these men's photograph in such a manner?? How can it not be that anyone, on first seeing that page, would interpret it as your calling them fraudulent??
Do these two men even use wiki?? I doubt that they even know what it is.
Whereas, you've taken the time to scribe a messge to me, please do read what I actually do say. If you are not the correct person to resolve these complaints, then, please do assist me to get them to the correct person.
If you do not like my actions,
== then, please, do make it
simpler for ignorami,
such as myself, to post
comments ==.

I had attempted to locate a comment-page; but, it does not work. The manner in which someone had added the above photograph had caused me to think that they are vandals.
It is, instead, an insult to them. It is, as well, an insult to disabled, as well as AfroAmericans, as well as multiple-birth-siblings.
Was someone attempting trifecta-racism?? How can you be racist, let me count the ways??
If there had been a comment-page, thereof, would I have commented.
I do not know how to move a photograph; I do not intend to vandalize.
I do hereby recommend transferring this photograph to a biography-page, including their names, et al.
It should, as well, a wiki-apology, regarding this insult.
&, which spelling, "Doppelgänger"??

I'm sorry about not reverting the photo, I didn't place it there in the first place. All that I did was remove the comment at the bottom of the page, which is more suited to belong on the associated talk page. I realise that my declaration of ‘vandalism’ could have been somewhat excessive. ~Chris (e) 12:51, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
