Ian_Sommerville_(Artist/Scientist) deleted July 2008

Hello

I noticed while doing research that you deleted the page:

in July of 2008

While I have no idea how well the page deleted was written Ian Sommerville is a notable artist and scientist connected to the Beat Generation. He and Bryon Gysin developed the Dream Machine, he has been included in several exhibitions at major institutions (his work was recently included in an exhibition at the Statens Museum in Copenhagen and several years ago at the Tate Modern) and a feature documentary made about him.

He lived in Tangier with Gysin and and William Burroughs and is seen in hundreds of photographs with various members of the Beat Generation published in dozens of books. Allen Ginsburg composed his eulogy.

I feel that though he may not be a widely known persona he is in fact notable for his contributions to literature, art and culture in the 20th century.

If you would be so kind as to undelete the page I will do what I can to flesh it out in a better fashion.

Re:Revert issues

I hardly know where to start with replying to your message, it was so very wrong at every stage. So in order of you raising these points: I have not been warned multiple times on my talk page. I undid an edit once, the other time I changed the text so it was more accurate. The honus is not on me to find a source. The exisitng entry at the time you wrote did imply that the video was official, saying it was "released". An accurate sentence lacking any sources is still preferabal to an equally unsourced wikipedia page that is incredibly biased in itself. In fact, forget this. While writing this I have realised how unreference, biased and generally unsavable this article is, so I'm going to nominate it for deletion. Good day. U-Mos (talk) 20:21, 26 September 2009 (UTC)

I'd love you to try and prove that I have nominated this article for deletion out of spite. Really, I would. What you are saying is that an article with no sources should be totally positive because everything else is potentially liable. There was nothing like that in the text I re-added. The video is unofficial. It was removed. And it was because of Thom Yorke. There are no sources in the entire article, and that coupled with the questionable notability and extreme bias is why I nominated for deletion. To take exception to this particular edit does nothing but imply your own bias, as every edit that has added to this article in the last two years has been unsourced. Raymond Salvatore Harmon

You undid all my work getting the article to comply with our Manual of Style. In particular, lists of works and events must be in chronological order. References must be reliable third-party sources and must actually verify the stated facts, which some of the references don't. Citations must be full, they must include the authors, publihsers, dates, etc and should be linked from the title of the work, not from an appended link.

I took a great deal of time to fix all these problems, and you reverted all my work.

You have destroyed a ton of the work I have done on that page over the past 3 years. Although I don't think your "wikilord" comment is a personal attack, it does suggest an abrasive approach to editing.
