Question from Jonny5679 (03:49, 12 February 2026)
Hello! I saw your talk page and someone said that there is a task center. Do you have any tips for that and editing? I just want to help the community effectively and learn new things. Thanks! --Jonny5679 (talk) 03:49, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
- @Jonny5679 Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! I (and the rest of the community) appreciate your willingness to help. The Wikipedia:Task Center is exactly what it sounds like: it has a list of things you can do, and an explanation of how to do it. The ones labeled as suitable for "all editors" are the best to start with. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
- Alternatively, if you want to start with something more simple, to get a sense for how Wikipedia works, you can go your homepage, which is linked at Special:Homepage. It should have a list of suggested edits, such as adding links to articles.
- If you have specific interests, such as a topic or article you want to improve, then just let me know, and I can give some guidance on where to start. I've also left a message on your talk page with some additional helpful links. Best, Crestfalling (talk/contribs) 04:09, 12 February 2026 (UTC)
Question from Leeanne Oli (12:14, 17 February 2026)
I’d like to create a page for Australian Cobberdog Society Inc, it’s a not for profit organisation with its soul purpose to provide support to Australian Cobberdog breeders and promote this beautiful breed in development with Dogs Australia. When I’ve tried to create this page Wikipedia gave me a warning and said that I couldn’t create this page as the system believed the Australian Cobberdog Society is a business which it is not. Could you please guide me how to make this work. Many thanks Leeanne --Leeanne Oli (talk) 12:14, 17 February 2026 (UTC)
- Hi! To create an article on Wikipedia, you should first make sure that the subject meets notability guidelines. To explain it simply, the subject should have received substantial third-party coverage in reliable sources. This is because information on Wikipedia needs to be sourced so that readers can know it's correct, as well as neutral (so the article can't be based entirely on the company's own information). For more information, please check this page: Wikipedia:Notability.
- If you believe that to be the case, then you can write a draft and submit it for review using this link. If your edit gets tripped by the automated filter, it's possible that it's detected certain words that sound promotional, so try to write in as neutral a tone as possible (which is also part of Wikipedia's standards). Finally, if you're personally involved with this organization, then please consider reading this guide; if you're not, then don't worry about it. Question from ArtVandelay23 (21:24, 14 February 2026)
Hello!
I am curious about moving a page for a school with an outdated title. I the Brandeis School of Business and Economics is still titled their former name, Brandeis International Business School -
But I am not able to find the 'move' button in order to correct the title. Any input on the matter would be highly appreciated!
Thanks so much. --ArtVandelay23 (talk) 21:24, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- @ArtVandelay23 Hi! To move a page, your account needs to be autoconfirmed, which would be granted four days after registration, so that's easy enough. That being said, moving a page is a fairly tricky procedure, since it requires fixing incoming links, changing related references to the article, and other technical aspects.
- Because of this, Wikipedia has instituted guidelines regarding when moving a page is appropriate, with the relevant guidelines being WP:NAMECHANGES and WP:OFFICIAL. Essentially, a page should only be moved to an new official title if a majority of contemporary and independent reliable sources use the new title. This is because Wikipedia is meant for a wide audience, and we want to make sure that readers don't get confused if they search for the more common historical name.
- I did a check of online sources, and it seems like it's currently mixed; there are several news articles mentioning the name change, but as for online college directories, only a few have adopted the new name. That being said, it was only a cursory search, and if you find that there is enough evidence that the above criteria are met, you can make a move request using WP:RSPM. If other users agree, then the page will be moved, and they'll even handle the technical parts of moving as well. If you have any questions about the linked guidelines or how to make a move request, feel free to follow up. Best, Crestfalling (talk/contribs) 22:54, 14 February 2026 (UTC)
- Got it, I appreciate your guidance and response! ArtVandelay23 (talk) 20:36, 15 February 2026 (UTC)

- Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! If you have any questions about getting started, just let me know. I've left a message on your talk page with some additional helpful resources. Crestfalling (talk/contribs) 17:57, 25 February 2026 (UTC)
Question from Makosharkfan (21:51, 15 April 2026)
Ok so im new to wikipedia editing and want to add an entire page for the neomorph from alien covenant --Makosharkfan (talk) 21:51, 15 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Creating a new page is a very difficult process, since it involves a lot of research, writing, and understanding what content is encyclopedic and what isn't. If you're interested in a media series such as Alien, I'd recommend you first edit some pages related to it to get a feel for how Wikipedia works.
- However, if you really do want to create a new article, then there's some great advice at the page your first article. In a nutshell, make sure that the topic has enough coverage from secondary reliable sources, and that you're following applicable guidelines when writing about it. I've a left a message on your talk page with a link to some useful resources; in addition, if you have any follow-up questions, I'm happy to answer them. Question from Pnwalien01 (00:04, 16 April 2026)
Hello! I had a question about uploading photos to a Wikipedia page. Is it okay to upload a photo of the staff of a nonprofit to their Wikipedia page when the photo was posted on their organizations website?
Myself and two other peers are working on updating the Dine C.A.R.E Wikipedia page as a project for a class. We were hoping to add the staff photo posted on the Dine C.A.R.E website but were unsure if that was going to go against Wikipedia's guidelines. --Pnwalien01 (talk) 00:04, 16 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia! Unfortunately, that would typically not be allowed unless the photo has specifically been released under a free license. Due to copyright laws, Wikipedia only allows freely licensed images, with some rare exceptions that likely wouldn't apply here. Looking at the organization's website, I don't see any indication of that.
- However, it might still be possible to upload an image with a bit of work; Wikipedia has a special procedure for requesting copyright permission that involves contacting the image's rights-holder, and I'd encourage you to give it a try. For more information, you can refer to Wikipedia's image use policy, particularly the first section. If you have any additional questions, I'm happy to answer them. Question from Rahamat Sheikh on Talk:Qatar Airways (14:12, 19 April 2026)
I bought a ticket on April 21st but the last name of my ticket was wrong in the sentence. Now I am going to the website to correct it and apply for it. Now how long will it take for me to get it and will it be available --Rahamat Sheikh (talk) 14:12, 19 April 2026 (UTC)
- Hello. I would suggest looking for information on the airline's website about their policies, or contacting their customer support. Unfortunately, Wikipedia has a lot of articles, and we don't always have all the information about every subject. I wish you the best of luck in getting things resolved, as well as your trip going well. Crestfalling (talk/contribs) 06:00, 20 April 2026 (UTC)
Question from ZainulAbidin-dot (23:39, 6 May 2026)
- Note: ZainulAbidin-dot's mentor Jenhawk777 is away.
Hello,
Can you please explain the steps to edit and publish and how to check if it has been accepted and reconized --ZainulAbidin-dot (talk) 23:39, 6 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hello, and thank you for your contributions! The great part about Wikipedia is that anyone can edit it. Simply go to a page, press the edit button, and make changes that improve the article. The edit will immediately be published, although other editors might modify it later on if they don't feel it improves the article. That's a normal part of Wikipedia's process, and don't let it discourage you if it happens; simply consider the feedback for the future.
- There are a small percentage of articles which don't publish changes immediately, or don't allow editing by new users; if you encounter one of those, just be patient, since you'll soon gain the experience to edit them. If you have any questions, I'm always happy to answer. Crestfalling (talk/contribs) 01:09, 7 May 2026 (UTC)

Question from Spooky Spookhouse (18:24, 18 May 2026)
how could I fix this tone? "The work of De Meulemeester shows relationship with that of James Ensor. His craftsmanship is excellent, his themes are humoristic, sarcastic, even cynical, with a deep understanding of human nature, described pleasantly but with no illusions." I am having trouble with fixing tone. --Spooky Spookhouse (talk) 18:24, 18 May 2026 (UTC)
- Hi, and thank you for your contributions! In general, under Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, opinions such as "his craftsmanship is excellent" should not be stated as fact. Instead, they should be attributed to sources. So, for example, Several critics described his craftsmanship as "excellent", while a contemporary newspaper called his themes "humoristic, sarcastic, even cynical"... would be acceptable. Looking at this particular article (André de Meulemeester), that excerpt appears to be attributed to a critic, so it's probably fine as it is.
- Just as a bit of general advice which I hope is helpful: if you can't find sourcing for those opinions, then it's best to simply remove them, since it's a matter of information rather than tone. No amount of rewriting tone can turn an opinion into fact. If you have any questions, then please feel free to follow up, and I apologize for the slightly late reply.
