Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Ali-Moeen-Writer2.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. J Milburn (talk) 14:34, 25 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading File:Ali-Moeen-Writer2.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Re:Message left on my talk page

edit

If the copyright holder of the images has sent you them with permission to release them under a certain license, then that is fine- just forward the email to the address given here along with the URL of the images hosted on Wikipedia, then add {{OTRS pending}} to each of the images. If permission was only given to upload the images to Wikipedia, please contact the subject again, and ask them if they are willing to release the images under a free license (Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 is a good one) and, once you have the email, follow the procedure above. Good luck, and thanks for understanding the situation and doing your best to deal with it. J Milburn (talk) 12:59, 1 January 2009 (UTC) Reply

Ali Moeen Article

edit

Dear Cap'n Tucker! I have made some further edits and hope the article now has no (or little) POV stuff, which I'll gladly remove if any remains. I'm searching for alternative sources for the tele film/drama awards also. Would appreciate your comments and feedback. Thanks, --Crimson67 (talk) 17:52, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Crimson67, the article is getting better. Here are a few things that I can see to improve it more:
  1. All of the external links (i.e. bare URL's) within the article prose should either be changed to citations if they really are references or placed in the external links section. If you turn it into a citation make sure that it actually provides a reference for the statement.
  2. I would remove 'Award Winning' from the lead and in the lead write out what awards he has won briefly, you don't have to cite them in the lead if they are referenced in the article
  3. I would change the numeric lists to bulleted lists using the * character at the beginning of each line.
  4. Many of the wiki links within the article are going to incorrect articles for example: PTV which I assume that you mean Pakistan Television Corporation, if you wanted it to read PTV you would write this link this way in wiki markup: [[Pakistan Television Corporation|PTV]].
  5. The article needs an infobox, the writer infobox can be found here: Template:Infobox Writer
  6. References for the books and other writing would be good, remember that you want to keep lists to a minimum and write as much as you can in prose.
  7. You should add the article to the project Wikipedia:WikiProject Pakistan and probably ask for additional help through editors there, as anything Pakistani is well out of my area of expertise. You should probably consider joining the project as I would imagine you can help with their efforts. The article should also be part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography, you add the projects templates to the articles talk page.
Good Luck and feel free to ask any more questions. --Captain-tucker (talk) 21:02, 6 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ay Ay Cap'n! Thanx for the feedback and the invitation to join the Wiki projects. I will with pleasure. Hopefully in the next few days I shall be able to get things in order and get this article safely anchored. Regards, --Crimson67 (talk) 14:34, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Ali Moeen Article - Awards and Inline external Links

edit

Dear Cap'n Tucker! I've made some more edits following your latest instructions. I still have to put the external links in the proper format. In addition, I will add the awards after receiving an award list in chronological order from sources I can cite here. I'm afraid it's a holiday on January 7 and 8, 2009 and the award list will not be in before Friday January 9, 2009, or probably Monday January 12, 2009, so I appreciate taking that into consideration by the Wikipedia team and users. Thanks for your assistance. Regards, --Crimson67 (talk) 18:42, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

No problem, as you can see I removed the notability tag, in my opinion the article meets the requirements of WP:BIO so you should be safe from having the article deleted. Other editors have their own opinion but I think with the newspaper articles you added as citations you should be all set. Enjoy your holiday and keep working on it when you return. --Captain-tucker (talk) 18:46, 7 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thank you Cap'n!

Just so you know, when you add a template (like the project ones that you just added to Talk:Ali Moeen) to an article talk page you don't sign it with the ~~~~.

Noted. Thanx Cap'n

Ali Moeen Article

edit

Hello Captain! I've been away and just got back in town. I'm compiling a list of songs written by Ali Moeen and also info about his books. They were published a long time ago and do not carry an ISBN no. Kindly let me know how to cite references on them. As for awards, would scanning the letters issued by awarding bodies help? Some don't have web sites but I'm searching the archives of newspapers (offline) for news items published in that regard. I do this in my free time as I'm a freelance creative writer but I enjoy working on Wikipedia projects and am looking forward to participate in other projects in the near future. Thanks and regards, --Crimson67 (talk) 05:25, 23 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dear friend,

You seem to be an active Wikipedian from Pakistan. We have an Urdu Wikipedia that needs all the help that it can get. Currently, we do not have many active users and we will really appreciate if you would consider becoming an active contributor. As you are already familiar with Wikipedia's style and rules, your presence would also help elevate the overall content quality.

Hope to see you soon at Urdu Wikipedia

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:31, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
