Re: Your Day
You are quite welcome! :) Keep up the great work! :) - Neutralhomer • Talk • 18:27, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
- Green Giant, I would seek your opinion on the Kochi talk page. Does a feeble minority of the slum dwellers living in shanties qualify for a photograph to be added to the page? Thanks

Thanks for taking the time to review my [first] article. I do appreciate your tweaks, and I did indeed take the time to follow the links you provided. foot452 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Foot452 (talk • contribs) 17:03, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Move request for Dulhasti
Hi Giant, I noted your remark at Talk:Dulhasti and have responded there--yes, the new spelling, without the space ;) . Thanks, Drmies (talk) 19:11, 17 November 2010 (UTC)
Removal of Tekken Tag Tournament from TTT
Well I looked around and found a reference by a reliable source and mentioned the abbreviation in the lead of the article that it is infact referred to as TTT. Does that grant a removal from the disambiguation page now? Simply seeking approval. Sincerely Subzerosmokerain (talk) 04:04, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

I don't know the wiki policy re: categories - why did you delete the Conflicts in Nova Scotia page from the Nova Scotia site?--Hantsheroes (talk) 02:58, 20 February 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean by "delete"; I assume you are referring to this edit i.e. removal of the Nova Scotia article from Category:Conflicts in Nova Scotia. On that category page it says "This category includes, battles, sieges, raids and skirmishes, and other related items that have occurred in Acadia or Nova Scotia's geographical area." By definition the "Nova Scotia" article is about the province in general and therefore it makes no sense to put it in a category about conflicts. Green Giant (talk) 18:56, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. Makes sense.--Hantsheroes (talk) 19:08, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
Just curious...
Why you removed stuff from my archive. – SMasters (talk) 06:35, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry my mistake, I was trying to clear up some categories when I should have been asleep. I have undone it but with an extra colon to stop your archive being categorised amongst Series of books. Green Giant (talk) 20:38, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
- Haha no problems, easily done. Thanks for fixing it. Cheers. – SMasters (talk) 23:51, 4 March 2011 (UTC)
Portugal revert
Hello Green Giant. I must apologize. I attempted to revert some malicious blanking of the Portugal article by a IP user, and unfairly reverted your WTO edits. It was not intentional, and did not mean to imply that your edits were vandalism. I thought that I was reverting the malicious editors blanking, and used the "vandalism" moniker on your edits. Regardless, I have (hopefully) reverted your content accordingly. Sorry. Ruben JC (Zeorymer) (talk) 00:25, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
- No problem. Thanks for letting me know, although I wouldn't have taken any offence, seeing as it wasn't malice on your part. :) Green Giant (talk) 00:29, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

Removal of Persian Literature Category
What is your reasoning of removing the Persian Literature Category to authors who are Persian and/or have written primarily in Persian? GoetheFromm (talk) 21:43, 26 March 2011 (UTC)
- I was doing some editing on Muhammad Iqbal, which was categorised under "Persian literature", which made no sense to me and I am sure most uninformed readers would find it confusing. His works in Persian should be under that category but the author himself should be under categories like "Urdu poets", "Indian poets", "Pakistani poets", "Muslim scholars of Islam", "Persian poets", "Muslim philosophers", "Contemporary Indian philosophers", "Pakistani philosophers", "20th-century philosophers", which I think is more than enough categories. Thats when I noticed that about thirty writers and poets were categorised under "Persian literature". At the same time there are another 120 poets in "Persian poets" and fifty writers in "Persian writers" but none of them categorised in "Persian literature". What is so special about those thirty that doesn't apply to the other 170?
- Rather than going through 170 articles and putting them under "Persian literature", I figured it was easier and made more sense to remove the thirty articles from "Persian literature" and where appropriate put them under "writers" or "poets". It doesn't help that Hotcat doesn't give much scope for an edit summary. I hope that clarifies that I'm not really a vandal. :) Green Giant (talk) 23:48, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, Thanks for your explanation. These categories are complementary.. For example Persian literature means any sort of literature written in Persian and actually Iqbal wrote more than half of his work in Persian. So Iqbal is both Urdu literature and Persian literature. We don't need to necessarily have on category only, and multiple categories can be complementary. see here: [1]. Persian writers is not necessarily Persian literature as some people who are Persian wrote in English or Arabic or German. Multiple categories actually clarify concepts and there are exceptions where they are not always the same. --Khodabandeh14 (talk) 00:36, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks Green Giant for the explanation. Well said, Khodabandeh. And thanks for your help. GoetheFromm (talk) 06:15, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

re: Redirect deletion criteria
Good morning. You asked a question about why we were defending a redirect you described as "wikilitter". I can't speak for Thryduulf but I've attempted my own answer in the discussion thread. Thank you for asking the question. It is an important philosophical question that gets to the heart of Wikipedia's policy on redirects. In my opinion, it's useful to re-answer the question every so often and to explain why the bar for redirects really is that low. Rossami (talk) 15:04, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

Category:Categories named after country subdivisions
Is there a better name for the category you created, Category:Categories named after country subdivisions? "Country subdivisions" usually refers to U.S. states, French departments, German Lander, Chinese provinces, etc. I don't think this is what you intended. Jandala
Their is a page for a fictitious Princely Stet called Jandala which is claimed to have been located in the old Hazara District of NWFP. No such princely state ever existed and a thorough internet search will verify this. For the sake of historical accuracy this page must be either deleted or "Princely State" must be removed from the title. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jandala_(princely_state) The link given as a reference does not work either. Category:Forest services (national)
Hi, if you feel a category name is wrong it needs to be changed through the process at Wikipedia:Categories for Discussion. Simply creating your preferred name and redirecting the old category causes disruption. I'm going to revert the changes as out of process. Timrollpickering (talk) 00:58, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification
Hi. When you recently edited Government of Texas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Billion (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Delete for move
When you request deletion of a redirect in preparation for a move eg. Election Commission of Thailand, please use {{db-move}} to make it clear what you want done. (And in the case of National Forestry Commission of Mexico where you said "English-language section of it's website", for goodness sake learn when "its" takes an apostrophe.) — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:12, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
