June 2022

edit

Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

You can use the edit summary field to explain your reasoning for an edit, or provide a description of what the edit changes. Summaries save time for other editors and reduce the chances your edit will be misunderstood. For some edits a summary may be quite brief.

Please provide an edit summary for every edit you make. With a Wikipedia account you can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing →   Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Drmies (talk) 15:01, 15 June 2022 (UTC)Reply

Wikilinking

edit

Hi Cube26. Thanks for joining the group of editors who specialise in improving chemistry articles. I noticed your recent addition to thiamine and want to make you aware of some policies regarding Wikilinks. More is not always better! See WP:OVERLINK which is the guidance on this. So, for example, linking heat is not especially helpful to readers as everyone knows what the word means and is unlikely to want to click through to another article on that as a result of reading about thiamine. I've not reverted your changed as this is not a big deal, just something to be aware of. I hope you'll enjoy editing Wikipedia and become a productive contributor.
