Siskel and Ebert website
My website has been up since January 2011. Roger Ebert has used my site on numerous occasions while he was still with us. We were the first to post his and Siskel's very first show. We do have permission to show the Tribune shows, but I have not gotten a response from either Disney nor WTTW in Chicago about my site in all this time.
Disney decided to take the At The Movie website down after they cancelled the show back in 2010. Roger had always enjoyed the old shows which is why I put them up. Other people have enjoyed them and they still do.
We do not accept any money. I put the site up at my expense! We receive over two million hits a month! Anyone and everyone can watch any of the over 700 shows of Siskel and Ebert we have AT NO CHARGE whatsoever.
My external links on Wikipedia were just a way to enhance the page (slightly) for a particular movie: To let people know that they can watch the review that was discussed within the article. Many times the articles mentions Roger Ebert, but there is no mention of Gene Siskel.
Many of these reviews still exist, and it is a shame that Disney and WTTW in Chicago won't put them up. So, I addressed the problem the best way I could!
SO the bit about my site being dubious in nature was unwarranted. That was assumption based not on facts! Roger Ebert appreciated my site, and he didn't find it dubious!
Yes, keep the external links deleted on Wikipedia to my site! That just indicates to me that the article for any movie was not well researched, since additional information is out there that is purposely being left out on Wikipedia!
Did you guys get special permission from the studios for the movie posters you use for each movie article? - firstmagnitude — Preceding unsigned comment added by Firstmagnitude (talk • contribs) 06:01, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
- Your website apparently does not have permission from the copyright holders for people to upload videos there, Firstmagnitude. Whether or not Roger Ebert linked there is irrelevant. You need written permission from the legal copyright holders. Wikipedia has very strict rules forbidding links to copyright violating websites. Plain and simple. All links to your website will be removed from Wikipedia unless you can produce ironclad evidence of copyright compliance. This is not optional and not negotiable. It is mandatory. If you persist in pushing your website on Wikipedia, you will be blocked from editing. That is a certainty. Stop now. As for your question about movie posters, please read WP:NFCI carefully, especially point #4. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:11, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
I am not pushing anything! I am sixty three years old and I don't appreciate how this was being discussed. Get some manners - please! I am sure Wikipedia has a link for manners.... look it up! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Firstmagnitude (talk • contribs) 06:20, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
- Coincidentally, I am also 63 years old, Firstmagnitude. So what? I am more than happy to be polite with you once you stop spamming links to your copyright violating website into Wikipedia, once and for all. Warnings for copyright violations are not intended to be polite, and they must be unambiguous and clear cut. Failure to root out copyright violations is a grave legal threat to Wikipedia, and I am obligated to be diligent on the matter, and I will. Please read and study WP:COPYVIO. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:28, 1 June 2015 (UTC)
Your paragraph at the beginning Jim said "friendly." Baloney! And you are sixty-three - right! Spamming, I said delete all my links. You can read can't you? Why would I waste time placing a link on your site -- I will never more -- especially with a Jim at the helm! Your Facebook page is a bore! Olive Branch from mikesmithonepercenter
Hello Jim,
I get the impression that you and Mike Smith got into it over edits to the page on the Twin Peaks incident in Waco.
Let me preface the following remarks by saying that he's an older gent who lived the life for a long time and has an incredible amount of firsthand knowledge of the subject matter.
That said, read if you will, he asked that I relay a message on his behalf:
"Dear Sir:
Let me apologize for the problem to start with.
Let me also deny using an alternate IP Address to further evade the controls. I honestly do not have that kind of technical training.
I tried to use the Talk Page and I read the self help article on it. For some reason I just have not been able to figure it out.
I tried sending an email and it was 'throttled" for spam? These two emails are the firs that I have ever sent.
Being locked out and not being able to present my case irritated me."
I trust the man and I hope you will set aside any ill feelings toward him. His perspective may not fit anyone's ideological template on the matter, but that goes with the territory. He has a tendency to be acerbic and assertive, but that is a function of his age as much as anything else.
Best Regards,
Russ Hardin

- I have no gripe against Mike Smith. If he posts a reasonably worded request on his Wikipedia talk page, I think his block will be lifted. He can also contact me by email at Jim Heaphy52@gmail.com. If he agrees not to be disruptive, I will teach him the "rules of the road" here on Wikipedia. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 00:59, 3 June 2015 (UTC)
Teahouse 2
I've answered a question at the Teahouse, second from the top as of 23:11 UTC, and edit conflicted in the process. Should I attempt to avoid edit conflicting, and are my answers rubbish? Sorry, I just need to know. Rubbish computer 23:12, 3 June 2015 (UTC) It's okay, I'm terrible at it, I'll stop. Rubbish computer 00:08, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- You are not terrible and you show potential. But you need to limit yourself to situations where you are 99+% sure of the correct information. If you say something incorrect, you can remove it if you are prompt. But once someone else comments (as in this example), leave your answer alone (except for correcting minor typos). It is jarring to see a reply to a comment that has been removed. Better to apologize, or strike through the comment in such a situation. Do not be discouraged. Keep learning. Our policies and guidelines are complex. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 00:19, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
I thought it was bizarre and wrong to answer questions there if you only picked certain questions but this is actually what I've wanted to do all along. Thank you. Rubbish computer 00:25, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
- Rubbish computer, I think I am either the first or the second most active of the Teahouse hosts, and I consciously decide not to answer questions all the time. I have never answered a template editing question, because I don't have any idea how to edit templates and am not interested in learning. Develop and strengthen your own core competencies and leave the other matters to people whose skills are in that area. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 00:33, 4 June 2015 (UTC)
Hello. Found you through Wikipedia:WikiProject Film/Participants#American cinema. Would you consider commenting at Wikipedia:Peer review/Citizen Kane/archive2? Is it possible
Is it possible to completely delete user names like this. I found it after checking this ref to check if the user would be able to remove recent vandalism. I didn't like the association of user names and wondered what further might be done. GregKaye 07:21, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
- I do not know but also do not care that much. I pretty much consider it a badge of honor if I am attacked by a deranged troll every once in a while. I have seen this "mensch" around previously, and it is like water off a duck's back to me. Thanks for caring enough to ask, though, GregKaye. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 08:30, 6 June 2015 (UTC)

I've finally figured out that pesky templates thing, thanks to you! :-D
But (there's always a but) when I do this template:

No issues specified. Please specify issues, or remove this template. |
The whole thing doesn't show. I tried it out in my sandbox 1st. It just says it has multiple issues instead of listing them all as it shows on the template pg where I got the code. (Of course I forgot to bookmark the pg.) I was doing some historical research (mining references can sometimes strike gold, so I was disappointed at the lack of them) & wanted to toss that template up on a bio of a dead person that has about 3 footnotes, all from the same biography book (which I own), & really needed better sourcing. Sorry to keep poking you on things that are 2nd nature to more experienced editors, but this Wikicode drives me nuts sometimes! ScarletRibbons (talk) 11:12, 6 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hello @ScarletRibbons:, in order to display multiple issues with this template, you need to separately write the issue templates underneath as you would normally, then put }} at the end. For example, if a page needed more references and was written like an advertisement, you could put this at the top;
{{Multiple issues| {{Refimprove|date=June 2015}} {{Advert|date=June 2015}}}}
to display this;

Your selfie in Czech Wikipedia
I clicked your Teahouse host photo File:Self portrait July 2012.jpg and noticed Global file usage. Did you know that the Czech Wikipedia displays you at cs:Selfie#Galerie? Google Translate says the caption "Selfie staršího muže" means "Selfie older man". The photo was added in [1] with caption "selfie starého muže" meaning "selfie old man". I don't have a problem with the photo being used as a selfie example but I thought you should know if you don't already. PrimeHunter (talk) 23:17, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hello PrimeHunter. I added my selfie to Selfie a couple of years ago, making the point in a talk page message that the phenomenon didn't involve only attractive young females. Unsurprisingly, my photo was removed in short order. Who wants to look at an old guy with white hair? I guess the answer is: the Czechs! Thanks for noticing. REEDS POINT MONTANA
hi Cullen - there is a book on Reeds Point and I'm sure it's in there...I had a copy of it, but beings it wasn't my hometown, I gave it to a friend.... Sorry I don't have time to look it up.... I'm very busy being a journalist as it is...Oh well - the answer my friend is blown in the wind.... How do you explain a rainbow to a blind person....? best regards anyway - ( there's a lot in print these days that isn't true, and to be honest with you, I have absolutely no cause to make this up.... ) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.174.166.125 (talk) 04:46, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- Once you get your book back from your friend, then look it up in the book and cite it properly. Until then, it does not belong in Wikipedia. If you do not have time to look it up, then you do not have the time to add it to Wikipedia properly. No one is saying that you made it up, but rather that you have not yet cited it properly. This is an encyclopedia, not a family memories blog. That's how we roll. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:52, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
Hi Jim, You were very helpful once and I'd like to request your assistance again. I've done a little work on this article and would like to advance it beyond it's current Stub rating. I'll do what is required if you can point me in the right direction. Samf4u (talk) 02:45, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- This article is already way better than stub rating, so I changed it to start rating. Perhaps an editor experienced with aviation crash articles can assign a higher level. If you are looking to write an air crash article, please consider the death of Bill Graham (promoter). I witnessed the aftermath of that crash and drive by the crash site regularly. Take care, Samf4u. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 03:06, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for upgrading the Loganair article and for the idea about an article on Bill Graham's helo crash. I'll start work on it in my user space and share it w/you before moving it. It is a notable crash and should have its own article imho. Samf4u (talk) 21:25, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
New article because old one deleted
I was wondering if it was possible to create a new article on a subject that was previously taken down by Wikipedia. The article was taken down because an editor was posting wrong information; information contradictory to what was already in the article. Is is possible to write the same article again with different content? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mahima711 (talk • contribs) 14:11, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Mahima711. An editor posting wrong information is not a valid reason to delete an article about a notable topic, so something else might be going on. Instead, the false information would simply be removed. If there are persistent efforts to create an article that doesn't comply with our policies, sometimes the topic is "salted", which means that creating a new article on the topic is blocked unless an administrator agrees to lift that block. This is relatively rare, though, and in most cases, a new article can be created as long as it complies with our policies and guidelines. Please be aware that it is likely that several experienced editors have your topic on their watch lists. Expect scrutiny if you write a new article. Good luck. The death of Bill Graham
Hi Jim, If you have time can you take a look at this. I could go with the current article name or "The Death of Bill Graham" or maybe "Bill Graham helicopter accident". Also do you think reference #3 is ok? Thanks, Samf4u (talk) 19:05, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
- I've been changing some references. The one in question is Blair’s Golden Road Blog - Bill Graham: 20 years Gone. Samf4u (talk) 19:20, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
- Very well done, Samf4u! As for Blair, he wrote a biography of Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, who were very close to Bill Graham. And the blog is certainly popular and respected among their fans. But I am inclined to try to find better sources, especially for the gruesome claim about the bodies falling to the ground. The other substantive comment that I have is that I would downplay the "Vallejo" location. Vallejo is a city with clearly defined boundaries, and the area to the west is unpopulated wetlands. I know this area very well. Vallejo may be the closest city, but Sonoma and Novato are almost as close. The main point is that the crash site is over six miles west of Vallejo, and that six mile stretch is uninhabited wetlands. No one who knows the area would say "I am in Vallejo" when passing that site. As for the title, I favor "Bill Graham helicopter crash". Cullen328 Let's discuss it 00:18, 17 June 2015 (UTC)

Hi Jim thank you for your prompt reply. Yes the same terminology applies in New Zealand. All the universities which have private presses also have presses :) that is, a publishing "business". I think in that context you're probably suggesting improving the Private Press article overall, as well as add the New Zealand references. Which is fine :) Elucidata (talk) 04:04, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hello, Elucidata. I am unaware of U.S. universities that have two separate publishing arms, one called a "University press" and one called a "Private press". However, I am not an expert so I could be wrong. In my experience, any publishing operation which is formally affiliated with a university is called a "University press", while a "Private press" is a venture by one or more individuals to publish high end books as an avocation or a hobby, as opposed to a fully commercial venture. Of course, the lines can be blurry, and a very successful private press is hard to distinguish from a smaller commercial press. Just my thoughts, for whatever it is worth. Opinion on article rejected
Jim, can you please give an opinion on this rejection? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Omar_E._Garc%C3%ADa-Bol%C3%ADvar Juvetorre (talk) 18:12, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Juvetorre. Your submission was declined and you are invited to make further changes. It was not "rejected". Phrases like "high profile" and "award winning book" are promotional and should be removed. The whole text has a mildly promotional tone. No sources are cited for his education. Your #1 challenge is to show convincingly that this person is notable. That means that there has been significant coverage of him as a person in reliable, independent sources. Quoting him, interviewing him, inviting him to speak at a conference, or mentioning him in passing are insufficient in themselves to establish notability. Co-chairing a subcommittee of a professional group does not establish notability. A concern has also been expressed about the copyright status of the photograph. Did you take the photo yourself? If not, how do you own the rights? It is important that you address all these concerns. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:53, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
Basic outline of a wikipedia page?

Hi Jim, thanks for offering to discuss things with me. I have made some radical edits to the Draft: Robert Morris-Nunn article. I wonder if you would mind taking another look and letting me know whether I am on the right track or not. There have been many hours put into this draft and if pruning is the only approach, then pruning I will do! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Orbitzoll (talk • contribs) 05:20, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Orbitzoll. Sorry for the delay in responding, as I have been quite busy. Your draft lists a number of projects you claim are notable. We need references to reliable, independent sources in order to state that these projects are notable, well-designed or worthy of praise. When I checked about ten references at random, they were all to the architect's own website, various client websites, or to the website of the trade group for Australian architects (with text and photos furnished by the architect). None of these sources is independent of the architect and none are acceptable for referencing a list of notable works. You really need to wrap your head around the fact that a Wikipedia biography needs to be built, first and foremost, on coverage in truly independent sources that have nothing whatsoever to do with the subject of the biography. The subject's own website can be used only for uncontroversial information like birth date and place of residence. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 21:39, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Jim Cullen328. Thanks for your latest advice. I have removed all references that route to the architect's own website, although this is a pity, because by far the best images of his work are there! I have also focussed on stripping out all apparently non-independent references, including client websites. The Australian Institute of Architects is the national professional body, but is also the main arbiter of creative work in the field, which makes things a bit tricky if I am not allowed to reference their awards. There is absolutely no doubt that this man is notable. He is the most awarded architect ever in the history of this place and deserving of an article in any comprehensive encyclopaedia. Would you please take another look at the article and the updated references and let me know if I have addressed your issues or if there is even more I can do? If there is, I will persist.Orbitzoll (talk) 02:52, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Orbitzoll. You can link to the architect's website as an external link. Of course, you can mention awards from the Australian Institute of Architects, and link to their awards pages. The specific AIA link that I objected to had photos provided by the architect and text provided by the architect. I hope you can see the difference. You can take photos of the architect's projects and upload them to Wikimedia Commons under an acceptable Creative Commons license and then add them to the article. I will take a look at your revisions. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 03:19, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- I am looking at the references for the notable buildings and I still see references that are not independent. They must be removed, and truly independent sources substituted. If no truly independent sources are available, then the specific building project must be removed from that list. If an architect does a project for a paying client, and the paying client discusses the project on their own website, and says "what a wonderful project and what a brilliant architect", then that is not an independent source for a neutral encyclopedia article. That is typical promotional puffery and not a neutral source. At the risk of sounding repetitious, the backbone of this article and its content must be what 100% independent reliable sources write about the architect and his work.

Draft:Vegenaise
Hi Cullen/Jim,
Thanks again for your helpful feedback on my Draft for the Vegenaise page. In your comments, you mentioned that having info pulled from our website does not meet the independent sources requirement, but I've found that other pages do reference the company website. May we still include some minor, obvious details from our website on our page?
Thanks! FYH Oscar — Preceding unsigned comment added by FYH Oscar (talk • contribs) 18:09, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hello FYH Oscar. Once notability has been established by significant coverage in independent, reliable sources, then you can reference "minor, obvious" details to the company website. Common examples include the date of founding, headquarters city, and CEO name. However, nothing evaluative or promotional can be referenced to the company website. Teahouse Posts
@Cullen328: I happened to notice that you frequently answer questions at the teahouse. I noticed because I happen to spend a lot of time there myself, though for the opposite reason. (I ask the questions you answer.) I found your comments helpful even though they were answers to other's questions. I thinking am doing okay on Wikipedia, but I've barely made any mainspace edits, and can't seem to find my place on Wikipedia. In the month I started, I made many edits, and then took a unexpected a wikibreak that lasted for two months. I would like to become a better editor and find something on Wikipedia I can help with. I know you already have at least one person you mentor, but if at all possible, do you mind mentoring me a little too? If you are busy, or would rather stick to having only one person to mentor, I completely understand. Thank you again for your indirect teahouse help! BluJay (talk) 02:48, 28 June 2015 (UTC) BluJay (talk) 02:48, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hello BluJay. The person I mentor is unable to contribute much these days, for reasons that need no discussion here. The one thing that I will say is that I will be here for her 100% whenever she is again able to edit actively. So, I do not want to establish a formal "mentor" relationship with another editor at this this time. Plus, I do not know your work here on Wikipedia yet.
- That being said, I think that my record at the Teahouse and here on my talk page shows that I enjoy helping new editors and directing them in the right direction. At least, I try to.
- My general advice to a new editor trying to find their place here on Wikipedia is to seek that answer in self-examination about which areas of human knowledge rivet your attention, and where you have (or can develop) a degree of expertise. Often, these will be local or niche topic areas. For example, you could set out to systematically improve articles about the historic sites of the town, city or region where you live. Start with those that are weak, unreferenced, or poorly refenced stubs. Good edits to such articles brings you positive attention rather than drama. In your mind, always keep improving the encyclopedia the underlying motive for every edit. This is an encyclopedia, not a social network.
- The project is so broad and vast that every single good faith volunteer can find useful work to do here. So, please feel free to ask specific questions at any time. I will do my best to answer. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 04:29, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Cullen328: I completely understand and thanks for the advice! BluJay (talk) 20:26, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
3House
I have not answered anything at the Teahouse for weeks. Should I not become a Host on the basis that I rarely or inconsistently answer questions or is this acceptable? I wouldn't think there's a minimum requirement to how many questions you should answer but is there a general guideline and/or consensus? Thanks, Rubbish computer 18:01, 28 June 2015 (UTC)
- In my opinion, Rubbish computer, you are paying too much attention to the formality of whether or not you are a "host". No one other than you cares one way or another. The only important issue in this regard is whether Teahouse questions are being answered in a friendly, helpful, accurate way. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 18:23, 28 June 2015 (UTC)

Discussion about C-SPAN First Ladies
Hello Cullen328. Thanks for taking the time to look over my proposed updates to the First Ladies: Influence & Image entry and respond at the Teahouse. Did you have any other feedback? If editors see the inclusion of the names of producers and academic advisors as appearing too promotional, I would be happy to remove them. That said, would you be willing to take the article live if that change was made? Or could you point me in the right direction to get help to expand the entry?
Thanks!

- Hello again, Juvetorre. Which three or four of your 27 references devotes significant coverage of this person in enough depth to show that he is notable? Cullen328 Let's discuss it 20:03, 3 July 2015 (UTC)
Clearly
You said "clearly" to something in an RfA that may be clear for you, but not me. - In a different context, is their a polite word for where I am tempted to speak of a victim of an institution. You may remember the talk about the spirale of justice, or as you suggested to reflect ""Righteousness" is perhaps better, but may carry excessive connotations of religious piety. Might a formulation like "right living" work? As a Jew, I am reminded of Yiddishkeit". --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:39, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Gerda Arendt. My use of the word "clearly" was meant as my own assessment of the likelihood that the RfA would succeed, and if instead I implied that my view should be clear to others, that was not my intent. I should have said "it seems clear to me", I suppose. I tried to be friendly in my "Neutral" comment and also left two friendly messages on their talk page. If there is anything else you think that I should do, I am open to your suggestions. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 15:42, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
- It may be just my (lack of) language, to me "clearly" means not likelihood but certainty, but we may clearly disagree ;) - As Rich seems in no danger of leaving the project - as some others - if his RfA is not successful all is fine. I mention his lone support for my statement - one voice in the universe - on top of my talk, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:12, 4 July 2015 (UTC)
Nude Photo
@ Cullen , at first i want to give a semi-nude photo in Panties article, i have found such kind of photo in Wikimedia commons . talk to me.Farzana zardari (talk) Farzana zardari (talk) 04:35, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Farzana zardari. I see that you added the photo and it was promptly reverted. You can try to make your case for including the image on the article's talk page. Just because an image is available on Commons does not mean that it belongs in an article. Selecting images that add encyclopedic value to an article requires editorial judgment. I do not think the photo adds anything of value to the article. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 05:43, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
@ Cullen 328 , the article Panties includes a photo named Panties in different colors , the photo has already been used in Lingerie .So I want to use a different photo on that place. Farzana zardari (talk) 06:05, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- Farzana zardari, there is nothing wrong with using an informative photo like that one of several pairs of panties in two or more relevant articles. That is no reason to add an inappropriate photo that emphasizes the woman more than the garment. You need to convince other editors, and so far, you are not doing a very good job of it. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:12, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
@Cullen328 , I have uploaded another photo on that page. I don't want removal . Farzana zardari (talk) 06:22, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- Farzana zardari, you may not want removal but you've got it. Someone else reverted. Three other editors have disagreed with your image preferences. Please do not change the images again, as that would be edit warring, which is a blockable offense. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:26, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
@Cullen328, please help me adding a new photo in panties.Farzana zardari (talk) 07:09, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- I am sorry, but I cannot help you in any way other than offering advice in the form of expressing my opinions about good editing behavior. I fear your behavior in this matter has been very close to disruptive, Farzana zardari, and I urge caution in the future. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 03:17, 6 July 2015 (UTC)
Infos about the WP system, that grants Wikipedians revert rights (aka, where can I get the sweets?)
Dear Cullen, Salomons request was wisdom, after that he was granted all. In that spirit, would you please direct me to the sources about the rights system in WP? Why? I am bold and try to get content in and am reaching again and again these article's shorewalls, fending off edits, even constructive ones in a rather short 'n uncivil manner (good cop bad cop). Please,. also, see my involvement in the article Proposals for a Palestinian state - any of your comments regarding my actions are very well appreciated, as well (I am not perfect!). And can I get these revert rights, the others have, and how? And how to use them properly? I feel lost in all the guideline even do not know the search term for this. And, final question, how to become a member of a cool minded group that would help and guide? Miraclexix (talk · contribs · count) Thank you --Miraclexix (talk) 16:36, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Miraclexix. Every editor has the right to revert, as explained at WP:RV. All Israel/Palestine articles are under a one reversion per day restriction, and after that, you must discuss and obtain consensus for any changes on the talk page. These articles are very contentious and are watched closely by highly experienced editors. I very rarely edit highly controversial articles because I know that I can be more productive and happier elsewhere. My recommendation is to be patient, to compromise, and to never lose your temper. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 17:01, 5 July 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you very much!! Methink the same: "because I know that I can be more productive and happier elsewhere" , there is not enough a higher culture and an openness - sadly enough. --Miraclexix (talk) 19:02, 6 July 2015 (UTC)

They do not discuss where he was born, where he was educated, where he lives now, or whether he is married or has children. Instead they quote him or his reports on other topics, like corruption in Nicaragua and so on. We are looking for significant coverage of him as a person. The article is about a famous chair that prompted copycats, is often featured in movies or at high-end restaurants and is known for being an icon of old-fashioned American workmanship (made by hand, lasts forever, etc.) It was originally built for military warships at sea.
I've started a discussion here about whether there should be a separate three-paragraph stub on the manufacturer, or if information about the company should be consolidated on the article about the more notable chair based on the advice I wrote at WP:ORGVANITY. Unfortunately it did not produce any discussion and I was wondering if you wanted to take a look.
This is also a good example to bust your pre-conceptions about paid editing; there's no reasonable way to interpret their motives as being to hide or spin non-existent negative information on the page. They were prompted by perceived errors and it being out of date. CorporateM (Talk) 20:13, 7 July 2015 (UTC)

- Hello RiqueThur.Phrases like "the poetry flowed with a never before seen robustness" and discussing his "muse" are promotional and not acceptable. The article must be written from the neutral point of view. I suggest that you read WP:CREATIVE which is the notability guideline for poets and novelists. So far, I do not see significant coverage of this person in reliable, independent sources. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 17:01, 10 July 2015 (UTC)

- Hello RiqueThur. Did you read and understand WP:CREATIVE? A university running a brief item on one of its graduates is not independent coverage of the sort that establishes notability. It is a routine thing that universities do. Once notability is firmly established, then such sources can be used for uncontroversial biographical details. Hi! Jim
Thanks for your comment about my need for help with footnoting on the Leslie Lazarus article. I am somewhat confused as sulfurboy said the footnotes needed fixing, but you say not? Thanks for your comment on notability, I have now added a couple of links that show notability. What do I do now about the conflict of opinion about the footnoting? Cheers Marcella Marcella.lazarus (talk) 04:23, 12 July 2015 (UTC)
- Hello Marcella.lazarus. I guess that the issue may come down to the definition of "fix". The other editor said the references need fixing, and I said that they need URLs added, if the URLs exist. So my recommendation is to add the URLs where they exist, and then ask Sulfurboy to take another look, and comment in greater detail if he still has concerns.
