Speedy deletion nomination of Jay-boy

edit

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Jay-boy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Qwyrxian (talk) 12:31, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Do not remove Speedy Deletion Tags

edit

Please note that editors are not allowed to remove Speedy Deletion tags. If you want to contest the deletion, add a hang on tag to the article, then explain on the talk page why you believe the article meets Wikipedia's Notability criteria. If you do not immediately stop removing speedy delete tags, you may be blocked from editing. Qwyrxian (talk) 12:40, 22 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hold on

edit

Hi,
you need to stop for a minute and try to understand what the above notices want to tell you. Wikipedia has inclusion criteria, and the topic you wrote about fails them very clearly. Please read up on those criteria, and don't immediately recreate your page, it will only get deleted again.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Speedy deletion nomination of Jay-boy

edit

A tag has been placed on Jay-boy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. To anyone putting Speedy Delete notices here--please know that yesterday this user created the same page (Jay-Boy, something between a hoax and a completely non-notable musician) at least 4 or 5 times (I'm not sure how to check to see deleted articles). Several of those warning were removed by User:Amalathea in an attempt to not overwhelm the new user. However, if this persists, I have to assume some action other than just deleting the same page repeatedly.

To Curtscottowen, if you're reading this: Wikipedia has policies about what articles can or can't be made. As you can see by the fact that we kept deleting the Jay Boy article yesterday, it has been determined that Jay Boy doesn't qualify for a Wikipedia article. No matter how many times you add it, it will be deleted. Eventually you will be blocked so that you can't edit Wikipedia at all. Please reconsider your actions. Seeing that you are apparently not willing to discuss it, and continue to create a page about a topic that blatantly fails the notability guideline:
Please stop. If you continue to introduce inappropriate pages to Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. If you need guidance on how to create appropriate pages, try using the Article Wizard.
Again, if you want to discuss this, feel free to approach me. Amalthea 14:44, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
