Tim Gosling
editHi again. I noticed you wanted to include some pictures at the article Tim Gosling. To include pictures, you have to upload them to Wikipedia; however, I wanted let you know Wikipedia has a rather stringent image use policy that says what kinds of pictures are acceptable for use in the encyclopedia. In a nutshell, you should be very careful in checking the copyright status of the image you want to upload. Most of the time, images uploaded to Wikipedia should be either images you created yourself, or images made available under an acceptable free license. Under special circumstances, it is okay to upload copyrighted images under a fair use claim. If you feel that the images you want to include in the article satisfy the image use policy, head over to the Wikipedia:File Upload Wizard, which will guide you through the process of uploading images. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a message at my talk page or head over to the Teahouse. Best, Mz7 (talk) 18:07, 30 March 2014 (UTC)

editHello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:
- On the Tim Gosling page, your edit caused a missing references list (help | help with group references). (Fix | Ask for help)

Replaceable fair use File:Straw Marquetry Bar Cabinet.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Straw Marquetry Bar Cabinet.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Fut.Perf. ☼ 07:45, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

- There is no system that will allow a "For Wikipedia use only" image. The choice is a "free image" or a "non-free image". If the person is alive then you can forget non-free - it will always get marked as replaceable (because it is!). Wikipedia is not here to promote "two publicity pictures" in the way you want. If it is so important that the images are used here, then you will have to supply a proper copyright release - using the procedure at WP:DCM. One image is 432 × 576 pixels, you could upload half that size (with the copyright holder's permission sent in), which would be OK for an infobox in an article, but would reduce some of the potential for others to re-use it (make sure that the letter sent in stipulates the image size if you want to ensure that aspect). image uploads
editThe issue with the images you have uploaded is that they are copyrighted. Wikipedia does not host copyrighted images of living people, as a freely licensed image could be taken. Has the copyright holder emailed Permissions@wikipedia releasing the image under a free license like this ? - Peripitus (Talk) 23:23, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
Replaceable fair use File:Portrait of Tim Gosling.jpg
editDear Peripitus, I myself sent the permissions through to Permissions@wikipedia and these should have been checked by now so my images can be released? This has been going on for weeks now! Please can someone help me! Thanks so much in advance as am at my whits end! I also have two other images that have permission but I have yet to dare put on as its so complicated but I want to use - isn't there an easier way of doing this but I do see that you need permission which I have supplied?? Could you check that the images permission have been received and restore these images to the page please? Custardpieboy (talk) 12:27, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- (talk page stalker) I'm an OTRS volunteer and admin, and I've just searched for your permission and I have found no email. The queue is rather clear and has been for some time. If you have permission from the original copyright holder, you can forward their permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org or they can email directly (see WP:CONSENT for details). If the copyright holder has not given evidence that they wish to release the file under a free license, we cannot host the file as it is a violation of our non-free policy (WP:NFCC)). Cheers, TLSuda (talk) 20:53, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
Just a note that when the OTRS permission email is actioned, deleted images can be easily undeleted so won't need re-uploading - Peripitus (Talk) 09:50, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on File:Tim Gosling - Furniture and Interior Designer.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Stefan2 (talk) 22:45, 22 May 2014 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
