User talk:Cyde/Saving bandwidth

Whole heartedly agree with this essay. As a matter of fact, I was thinking about it myself before you wrote it. Let me explain: I often run Wikipedia off an old computer (e.g., 400Mhz, 128MB RAM), and it take forever to run all these Javascript commands through. It would be considerably more efficient not only for bandwidth, but for memory performance, to not have to run all these commands (I could actually probably write the Javascript myself in a more efficient manner). What's more, loading all the different Javascript files can take forever when Wikipedia's servers decide to slooooooooooooow down - I encourage anybody to download a Firefox extension and look at the dozens of files downloaded every time one loads a site on Wikipedia.
