Hornchurch badge
editHello. The version of the badge you attempted to add to the article is a copyright violation and cannot be used. If there is an error in the existing logo, you can upload the correct version at File:Hornchurchfc.png using the "Upload a new version of this file" button. The version you upload must not be more than 100,000px in size, so you'll have to shrink it to 294 x 339px. Cheers, Number 57 16:43, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
Hello, I’ve uploaded the new image and shrunk it. Unfortunately it’s compromised the quality of the image but will solve the problems others are having with it. I don’t understand the copyright infringement because my sister created these club crests for the football club so she is the designer. Thanks for your help. D3991 (talk) 23:01, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- It's a copyright infringment because you uploaded with the claim of 'own work' meaning it was actually your work. If you upload an image to commons legitimately, you are releasing it into the public domain and so all claims to ownership or copyright is lost – I presume the club is the actual owner of the logo rather than the designer, so only they would be able to release it into the public domain and would need to understand what this actually means (the club would not be able to stop others using the logo on merchandising material etc in future). - Actually, it seems the club crest is actually the coat of arms of Hornchurch Urban District and therefore the ultimate ownership probably lies with the local authority. Number 57 09:52, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
Yes that’s true, as Hornchurch Urban District council provided the current ground for the club and as part of the deal Upminster Wanderers had to change their name to Hornchurch & Upminster to reflect that. As that council was abolished in 1965, and the image changed over the years, I don’t really know whether Havering Council have any ownership over it as they now use something similar to the Romford Coat of Arms. - Regarding the capacity, could you provide a source for the 2,000 figure. I have removed it entirely in the meantime. Cheers, Number 57 22:15, 29 April 2022 (UTC)
I can’t provide a source as I’ve only been told via WhatsApp so best to leave it off as it’s causing some confusion regarding ticket sales for tomorrow’s game D3991 (talk) 08:41, 30 April 2022 (UTC)
