Your edit to United States
editAs the United States is often referred to as "America", I have reverted your change. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 21:10, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
- But it is not america since america is the continent User:Danigoni
Hi! Yes, I understand, but this is what the sentence says:
- The United States of America (also known as the United States, the U.S., the U.S.A., the U.S. of A., the States and America)
It doesn't say if it's right or wrong that the United States of America is known to many people as America; it just says that many people do say "America" when they mean "The United States of America". You will also see the same reference if you look at the disambiguation page for America. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 02:56, 6 November 2006 (UTC) OK but you should ask canadians mexicans agentinean brazilian chilean and people from any other american country wut do they think about this User:Danigoni and im sorry if i hurt your feelings cause maybe ur american but helping the people to learn the truth is not vandalism User:Danigoni Can i put a note in that page that thats an incorrect name?
Please stop. If you continue to vandalize pages, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. --Doc Tropics Message in a bottle 23:46, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:00736629.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:00736629.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

November 30
editWhy do you have Mexican President's leaving office at 11:59:59 November 30, the presidential inaguruation didn't take place at mid-night. GoodDay 15:12, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
- I've corrected your mistaken edits. Presidential terms end & begin on December 1st. President Calderon was sworn in at Noon - December 1st NOT at Mid-night Nov.30/Dec.1. Therefore Fox's term expired Noon - December 1st. GoodDay 15:59, 1 December 2006 (UTC)
Believe me im mexican at 11 59 59 i was watching the news and at 00:00 am on december 1st a special government program anounced that calderonb was now the president and last day of a presidents here in mexico is november 30 if you dont believe me ask a mexican (like me) User:danigoni]
Licensing for Deltalogo.jpg
editImage:Deltalogo.jpg listed for deletion
editIf you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Matt 23:37, 7 January 2007 (UTC)Image:Deltalogo.jpg listed for deletion

editThanks for uploading Image:Boeing 787 actual fuselage section.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Unspecified source for Image:Boeing_787_actual_fuselage_section.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Boeing_787_actual_fuselage_section.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 21:33, 14 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 21:33, 14 July 2007 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with Image:Plane17.JPG
editThank you for uploading Image:Plane17.JPG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Jusjih (talk) 03:00, 1 January 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of Already Free
edit A tag has been placed on Already Free requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a musical recording which does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, and where the artist's article has never existed, has been deleted or is eligible for deletion itself. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for music.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding
{{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. – Jerryteps 22:11, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, the bands name was mis-spelled and I couldn't find their article so I assumed they were non notable, i now know they are. – Jerryteps 00:44, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
Image copyright problem with File:Downintheflood.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Downintheflood.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
