Ban?
editI have not banned you as my my block log shows, do you use a shared IP I blocked, that may be the problem? Please advise if this is the case so I can do something about it. --Alf melmac 20:09, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
I have recieved a message saying you have banned me because of someone called beefcake? Death Eater Dan 20:11, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
This is a copy/paste of the message-
- Your IP address is 195.93.21.6. Please include this address, along with your username (if you are a registered user), in any queries you make.
Your user name or IP address has been blocked by Wiki alf.
The reason given is: Autoblocked because your IP address has been recently used by "Beef cakes". The reason given for Beef cakes's block is: "vandalism only accont". Death Eater Dan 20:14, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
- OK I believe I solved it and cleared you for editing. Beef Cakes was an account created on aol specifically to vandalise, per policy I blocked that username. The autoblocker kicked in when it was 'your turn' to have that IP, insoluable problem that one I'm afraid :( Hope it's all good now. --Alf melmac 20:31, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

There's 2 things we could do about that family tree. 1) Break Black family out of Blood purity (Harry Potter) and include a downsized tree there. It's not really about Sirius after all. 2) Put in an external link to the Harry Potter Lexicon page that treats the subject. Either way, I don't think the full tree belongs in Sirius Black. - Mgm|(talk) 11:39, 24 February 2006 (UTC)

editHi Danlina, I suspect your edits were simply lost in the database history. As you may have noticed, Wkipedia's had a few server problems lately. I'm not an insider, so I don't know the exact problem, but hopefully it's temporary. --Deathphoenix 05:34, 26 February 2006 (UTC)
I have started cleaning up the article. More work is needed which I hope to do over the weekend. Nevertheless, I would be grateful if you could take a look. Capitalistroadster 05:26, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
My RfA
editHey Danlina, how is it going? Thank you for supporting my Request for adminship! It passed with a final vote of 73/1/1, which means that I have been granted adminship! I look forward to using these tools to enhance and maintain this wonderful site. I will continue regular article/project contributions, but I will also allocate a sizable portion of my wikischedule toward administrative duties :) Thanks again, and if you have any questions/comments/tips, please let me know! — Deckiller 04:37, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
Welcome to Esperanza!
editWelcome, Danlina, to Esperanza, the Wikipedia member association! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.
Now that you are a member, you might be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is the StressUnit, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.
In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Possibles.
I encourage you to take an active voice in the running of Esperanza. We have a small government system, headed by our Administrator general, Celestianpower, and guided by the Advisory Committee , KnowledgeOfSelf, JoanneB, Titoxd and FireFox. The elections have ended.
If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact me via email or talk page. Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to be!Thanks! - File:Ottawa flag.png nathanrdotcom (T • C • W) 22:34, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

Harry Potter loyalty
editHi! I saw this edit, and by coincidence we're having a discussion about this very fact at the moment. Please see the discussion here and add your comments so that we can come to a consensus about what should and should not be included in the loyalty section of infoboxes. EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 23:56, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
- My apologies, you already commented on that, as you are "Death Eater Dan." Sorry, sometimes the difference between sig and username confuses me. Thanks for the help and the bold edits to Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter. EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 00:00, 1 April 2006 (UTC)

A Barnstar for you
editFor your hard work on Harry Potter-related articles, I hereby award you the Original Barnstar. You are free to put this on your user page (or not), as you desire. Congratulations! --Deathphoenix ʕ 17:26, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for welcoming me to the english-language wikipedia. I have been using wikipedia for 6 months making about 70 edits unregistered(!). I have the best intentions in helping wikipedia expand, although I find that the greek-language wikipedia, where I am a very active user, is easier to expand and I can start articles that don't exist there. My contributions to the english wikipedia will mostly be minor. Congrats for the barnstar.--Alexignatiou 06:50, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
==Welcome to VandalProof== Thanks for your interest in VandalProof! You've been added to the list of authorized users, and feel free to contact me or post a message on VandalProof's talk page if you have any questions. AmiDaniel (Talk) 10:37, 8 April 2006 (UTC)
Races/Characters in the Elenium
editAs a mergist, would you be interested in assisting a merge of all the minor character and race articles on the Elenium into a single article? I suggest moving the Races in the Elenium to a more suitable title and merging to that. QmunkE 09:19, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
I will certainly help out where I can, I am all for merging quite alot of the David Eddings articles as most of them are stubs and therefore quite weak, merging them into larger more informative articles would certainly work better in my opinion, and having a Minor characters in The Elenium and The Tamuli would be a good start. With regards to moving your Races in the Elenium article - let me have a think and I'll get back to you. Death Eater Dan (Muahaha) 09:30, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
A Download Is Now Available
editI just wanted to let you know that a download of VandalProof has recently been made available. AmiDaniel (Talk) 09:48, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
Just to point out (David Eddings)
editHey Dan, I thought the same of the David Eddings articles back when I first looked at them, but never got around to it beyond creating a few new articles. I was slightly deterred due to a mistake I made back when I was first a newbie, but perhaps a second look at the articles would be a good thing. I'll get on it when I next have a lot of time to spare at one time. :-) --Deathphoenix ʕ 14:14, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
Vandalism?
editHi Danlina. It's me Daniel5127. NEw member of HArry Potter Wikipedian. I saw that there's vandalism on Dolores Umbridge. We don't know which house she was in. So, Could you help me on that? That means Someone put her house as Hufflepuff, and Cho Chang's blood purity is Pure-blood. I hope you can see on that. ok?

Cleanup tag
editThank you for helping to identify articles in need of cleanup! In case you didn't know, it's not recommended to use subst: with cleanup tags. Doing {{Cleanup-date|{{subst:CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{subst:CURRENTYEAR}}}} instead makes it easier to automatically refile the page later, and lets changes to the original template show up on all tagged pages. Thanks again, Beland 06:08, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the Barnstar
editThanks! My first Barnstar. Still plenty of work to do on the Eddings articles, I hope you will continue to assist with them. QmunkE 15:03, 15 April 2006 (UTC)
VandalProof 1.1 is Now Available For Download
editHappy Easter to all of you, and I hope that this version may fix your current problems and perhaps provide you with a few useful new tools. You can download version 1.1 at User:AmiDaniel/VandalProof. Let me warn you, however, to please be extremely careful when using the new Rollback All Contributions feature, as, aside from the excessive server lag it would cause if everyone began using it at once, it could seriously aggitate several editors to have their contributions reverted. If you would like to experiment with it, though, I'd be more than happy to use my many sockpuppets to create some "vandalism" for you to revert. If you have any problems downloading, installing, or otherwise, please tell me about them at User:AmiDaniel/VP/Bugs and I will do my best to help you. Thanks. AmiDaniel (Talk) 06:43, 16 April 2006 (UTC)
HP Template Colors.
editHi Dan, I'm so sorry about changing the each character's box in Minor Ravenclaw, Blaise(Used by IP ID) into House Color, and changed the rule of using the color of character box. You mean one person is not allowed to change the rule of backghround color. Is it already made like this in the past? Sorry, I apologize for that. Anyways, Cheers. Hope you enjoy the good time with Wikipedia. Daniel5127, 19:27, 22 April 2006(UTC)

VandalProof 1.2 Now Available
editAfter a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:15, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
R.A.B. Article
editPlease visit the discussion section of the R.A.B. article, at your convenience, regarding the duplicitous "Translations" segments. I rearranged and rephrased the article a little so it would "read" better - please check and see if it passes muster now in your view, or if it needs further improvement. Thanks. --T-dot 18:07, 5 June 2006 (UTC)
Cetacean Article List

A short Esperanzial update
editAs you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
In this afd you said you have merged the contents to Minor Harry Potter beasts. However, a quick scan and search doesn't show up "Wrackspurt" in the article. Could you confirm you have done/will do the merger so I can close the afd as merge/redirect. Cheers, Petros471 18:12, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Oh and as a PS, I've been closing quite a few more Harry Potter articles as merge, and tagging them with merge tags as I'm not an editor in that subject area. If you could go through them and do some more merging, as you have done some already, that would be great. Petros471 18:13, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Trevor
editJust wondering where the discussion was that prompted the merge of Trevor into the Neville Longbottom article? It does not belong there. It should be placed into the animals in HP article (whatever it's called). Exploding Boy 04:25, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Book Seven.
editHello, Danlina. I know that you are Harry Potter fan. I'm also Harry Potter fan like you. But I occasionally work on Harry Potter article that means I frequently work on Article for deletion, Vandal fighting, and organize the article. I'm just wondering why you reverted this one Potter book seven&diff=49602791&oldid=49547856. It was about 2.5 months ago about on April 22, 2006. J.K.Rowling mentioned that viktor Krum will appear in Book Seven. Yes, This one should be mentioned in Book Seven article which is that we know about Book Seven(untitled). You forgot to provide the edit summary when you edited the article. However, I want to apologize for changing the direction of using colors of characterboxes in Harry Potter article without discuss with other user. So, Please answer in my discussion's page why you reverted my edit. *~Daniel~* ☎ 06:30, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- I am assuming you mean this edit, as the link you have provided is to a completly different page and not even a diff. Anyway I reverted the edit as it was poor grammatically and it was unsourced. By the way why are we dredging up 2½ months old edits? Death Eater Dan (Muahaha) 13:18, 7 July 2006 (UTC)

Hello, Danlina. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Nuvola Firefox icon.png) was found at the following location: User:Danlina/Userboxes. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 07:25, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
I read your discussion on the British spelling in the Hogwart's article from back in '06. Despite the warning on the article edit page, a user changed it back to 'enrollment' - don't worry I changed it back. Just thought I'd give you the heads up. Even though this is only a minor thing... people still think it's okay to change the spelling's of British related articles to American spellings... - Okay, I'm stopping myself from writing NOW. I just get irritated about those things. hehe, all the best. ScarianTalk
Unspecified source for Image:Oakwell1.jpg
editThanks for uploading Image:Oakwell1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:27, 23 August 2007 (UTC). Apologies to everyone for this notification being sent out so late, events in real life prevented me from distributing it at the time, and the Wine Project's had a bit of a lull during the Northern Hemsiphere summer. Wine Project activity
editThis is a friendly note to let you know that you have been moved to the Inactive members page of the Wine Project. Users are moved to this page when two months have passed without any Wikipedia activity or 3 months have passed without any contribution to a wine related article. The intent of the Participant list is to function as a resource for other editors wishing to get in contact with wine project members for comments or question on Wikipedia's wine article. The goal of this process is to try and maintain the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wine/Participants as current and up to date as possible with active and contributing members. Please note that this is not intended to be a negative reflection on your Wikipedia or wine related contribution and it is well known that sometimes outside life can take editors away from Wikipedia for some time. You will always be welcomed to rejoined the Wine Project should you feel that the time is right. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me on my talk or on the Wine Project talk page. Best wishes. AgneCheese/Wine 00:30, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

editThanks for uploading Image:Diamond Throne.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:29, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

File source problem with File:Stone Ram.jpg
editThank you for uploading File:Stone Ram.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.
If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 14:33, 28 August 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 14:33, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
