Your help desk issue
editThe material is no longer easily visible, as a result of your edit. In addition to John, I have also placed this article on my watch list, in case the same person (or anyone else) tries something like this again. Editors who know how to look at the history can still see it, so I have placed a request to have the history removed.
I redacted the words from the help desk post, so they won't be so visible, and I asked that they be removed, even from those who can view the history. The term for this process is "oversighting". I have sent the request to an oversighter, as I do not have that capability. Our oversighters are the most trusted member of the community.
If you would like any more information, please do not hesitate to contact me at my talk page--SPhilbrick(Talk) 02:22, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
- An oversighter has now removed the remark from the history, so even those who know how to look at articles as they looked in past can no longer see the language that was added. --SPhilbrick(Talk) 12:47, 27 December 2011 (UTC)
Editing the article about your wife
editHas anyone yet drawn your attention to the advice here? Although that page is titled "Autobiography", the same principles apply in situations like yours. -- John of Reading (talk) 08:18, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
