2005 French Open
editThis [1] indicates ATP is correct --MC 00:47, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
2006 Australian Open
editThis [2] indicates TC is correct --MC 00:35, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
1973/4 Australian Open
editTennis corner is missing a round for each of these -- the "Size mismatch" is causing the other errors. Since there's perfect score agreement for '69-'06, excepting these two, I'm willing to accept ATPtennis.com's draw as accurate. A second source would still be valuable, however. --Dantheox 01:58, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
The Bohrnstedt's
editThe Dick/Dave Bohrnstedt conflict affects the '77-'79 Australian Opens, '77 French Open, '72 and '77 Wimbledon. The ATP site's Dick Bohrnstedt combines all the results of TC's Dick/Dave Bohrnstedt. I can't find much information on the Dave guy. A Google search returns only two results that aren't on atptennis.com. They're both tournament results that ATP has w/ Dick instead of Dave. I'm willing to believe that Dave doesn't exist, but there is a slight possibility that ATP tennis merged an obscure guy with a less obscure guy. --Dantheox 02:36, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- Washington Post Jun 21, 1977. p. D1 shows that Wimbledon 1977 really was Dick, not Dave, so ATP is right on this count. --Dantheox 22:08, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
2002 Australian Open
editThis PDF [3] disagrees with the web draw [4] on the (same!) ATP site, but agrees with TC! --MC 01:04, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
Manuel/Manolo Santana
edit"Manolo" was just his nickname, see Manuel Santana. I'm going to rerun with this bit of information added in. --Dantheox 01:25, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
The Jairo Velasco's
editATP and TC are both at least partly wrong on this account. TC has one player, "Jairo Velasco Jr", who was born in 1974 and was active on the tour from 1968-1983! ATP has two players, Jairo Sr, who was born in 1947 and active from '68-'79, then Jairo Jr, who was also born in 1974 and was active from 1971-1983. I'm going to merge these guys into a single "Jairo Velasco" character. --Dantheox 19:15, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
1993 Wimbledon
editTodd Woodbridge won 11-9 in the tiebreak, so ATP is right. See New York Times, Jun 22, 1993. p. B8 (or [5] --not sure if the direct link will work) --Dantheox 20:53, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
1992 Australian
editAccording to the NY Times, Jan 16, 1992. p. B10, the actual score in this match was 6-3, 3-6, 6-7, 6-4, 10-8! That's rather worthless to us, since it doesn't fill in the tiebreak score and contradicts both. --Dantheox 21:04, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
1990 US Open
editTC is correct, see NY Times Aug 29, 1990. p. B8 --Dantheox 21:21, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
1978 Wimbledon
editNY Times Jun 27, 1978. p. C11 indicates that ATP is correct - John Marks was the guy. --Dantheox 21:31, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
2006 Wimbledon
editThis pdf from the ATP draw and the Wimbledon site agree with TC. --MC 23:51, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
