Notability of Keith G. Lucy

edit

A tag has been placed on Keith G. Lucy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 23:42, 14 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Sorry for the late reply, I will respond in more detail about the deletion of this article tomorrow. ... discospinster talk 19:18, 5 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

The reason I deleted the page was that there was no indication of notability. He is a member of the Board of Selectmen, but that in itself does not mean that he's notable by Wikipedia's guidelines — see WP:BIO and specifically WP:POLITICIAN: Just being an elected local official, or an unelected candidate for political office, does not guarantee notability, although such people can still be notable if they meet the primary notability criterion of "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject of the article." I hope this explains my action. ... discospinster talk 16:02, 7 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

Joseph L. Kennedy deletion

edit

Hi, Dan. An article about this individual is likely OK, but the original article was too short for inclusion and lacked references as to this person's importance. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 23:51, 10 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of File:TSpeliotis.jpg

edit

The file File:TSpeliotis.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
