Contested deletion

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (This is an about us page of the author and all the information presented here are verified correct and referenced. This page does not pose harm to anybody and supplied all verifiable information and the information here do not violate any copyright law, the information presented are sufficient and are important. Thank you ) --Dare Yekinni (talk) 00:01, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Your User page is to to describe your interest and activities as the relate to Wikipedia, not to promote you or your business. Please read WP:UPNOT. S0091 (talk) 00:05, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

I agree with your notion on why my page is not to promote me or my business, and this is the reason why i used the Barrack Obama's page format in writing my, all I did was to copy the Barrack Obama's template as a guideline in writing my own page. Unless you think Obama's page is used as a promotion, then i might have to agree with you, If not would you be kind in explaining further why you think i am promoting a topic ? Dare Yekinni (talk) 00:16, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Barack Obama meets Wikipedia's notability criteria and is a proper article. Your User page is not an article and should not look like one (again, read WP:UPNOT). If you believe you do meet notability criteria, then submit a draft but do read WP:Autobiography first. S0091 (talk) 00:23, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Having read through all the links you sent, I am afraid I'm still missing the issue here, but just to be clear and to understand your reservation. Could you please point out in clear terms what you think is wrong with the article so I can effect the corrections. Thank you Dare Yekinni (talk) 00:32, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you can't see how you are missing the issue about writing about yourself after reading the link about how you aren't supposed to write about yourself, then this is likely not the place for you. GPL93 (talk) 00:35, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Actually, take a look at both my User page and GPL93's for examples of acceptable User pages. Mine has nothing about me while GPL93 has one sentence, along with their interests and activities as they relate to editing Wikipedia. Again, your focus should be about Wikipedia, not posting your CV/resume. If that is all you are interested in, then I agree this is not the place for you and you will not be successful here. S0091 (talk) 00:41, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Oh really, I think you lack the courtesy to hold a conversation, so it's best you should crawl back to wherever you came from and let me continue with who I was discussing with. You rude fellow. Dare Yekinni (talk) 00:39, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

This is another misunderstanding you have about Wikipedia. It is collaborative and GPL93 is welcome to jump into any discussion as long as they are not being disruptive, which they are not. You, however, have now launched a personal attack (read this) by calling them rude, granted mild but still not a good look for you. S0091 (talk) 00:46, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

First of all, I think what you are getting at is that, I should use this platform to write about other people or events and not about myself, which was the plan and I agree. This could have been pointed out 3 replies ago rather than waste both of our times.

Secondly, it's very bold of you to state who will be successful where and who will not. I take that personally and you should apologize, not that I need it anyway but so can realize that you didn't start as an expert.

With that being pointed, have a good one you and GL whatever. Dare Yekinni (talk) 00:52, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

If you consider Rude as a personal attack then The following comments are what?

“This is not a place for you” “You will not be successful here”

I suggest you read your link on personal attacks for clarity. Dare Yekinni (talk) 01:01, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

Notice

edit

Hello Dare Yekinni. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Dare Yekinni. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Dare Yekinni|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message.

I believe you are mistaken about your notion of that i am being paid to promote a topic, the Page and topic in question is my personal page and therefore i can not have been paid. I think it is a mistake and i am not being directly or indirectly compensated for my edits. thanks Dare Yekinni (talk) 00:19, 16 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
