Orphaned fair use image (Image:Fatboy slim-fala ai.JPG)

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:Fatboy slim-fala ai.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. No content in Category:Kingdom Hearts albums

edit

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Kingdom Hearts albums, by Axem Titanium, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Kingdom Hearts albums has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Kingdom Hearts albums, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Category:Kingdom Hearts albums itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 11:44, 25 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Satoshi Ise

edit

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Satoshi Ise, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Fair use rationale for Image:All souns of saga.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:All souns of saga.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 18:46, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Fair use rationale for Image:Less than jake-the pez collection.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Less than jake-the pez collection.jpg. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Speedy deletion of The Mass (album)

edit

A tag has been placed on The Mass (album) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Notability of Tragedy (Celldweller Single)

edit

A tag has been placed on Tragedy (Celldweller Single) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Rwiggum (Talk/Contrib) 23:21, 10 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Translations

edit

Hello Dareheaven. I see you have questioned my deletion of many translations across several articles, and specifically, Dir en grey related articles. The translations, while being of some minute potential use, have no sources (this is one of the basic principles of Wikipedia), are improperly formatted in each and every instance (not making use of existing {{nihongo}} templates, {{tracklist}} templates, or lists. I would not consider deleting them if any one of these titles had a reliable, third-party source and was properly executed within the article body. Another issue that needs to be addressed is your threat-making (something against WP:ATTACK) which is unfounded. What, may I ask, makes this an issue deserving of administrative intervention? I think you need to clearly read more policies on this site and explore articles related to those which you intend to edit before trying to incite conflict. Thank you. --Jacob Talk 03:16, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

You cannot expect other Wikipedians to clean up after your messy edits. The issue is, you have zero (0) citations within each article you've modified, and you continue to improperly format, not making any effort to look into formatting guidelines, translation guidelines, and citation guidelines. Without citation, information added to Wikipedia is useless. --Jacob Talk 03:23, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
Your issue is being addressed by members of the WP:ALBUM project. You also need not make more effort for Wikipedians by (now deliberately) creating sloppy code and hundreds of unsourced statements across Wikipedia. Adding this many unsourced "factoids" tarnishes the image of Wikipedia as a fully-sourced encyclopedia, down to a repository for fan-assumed cruft. If you're going to contribute, put effort and be proud of your edits. --Jacob Talk 03:28, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I am not here to correct your mistakes, I would not normally even deal with translations, unless of course they'd interfere with articles I have worked on greatly, bringing them to B-class, or "Good Article" status. However, because you have plastered unsourced statements within articles I work labouriously on, I will be reverting your edits until they have sources and can at least follow a basic style guide. On another note, you needn't create a new header on my talk page with every message. Instead, enter new messages below others, use proper English if possible (as a jumble of letters and abbreviations don't have a very strong message) and (as is mandatory on all Wikipedia talk pages) please sign every one of your posts with two dashes (-) and four tildes (~). --Jacob Talk 03:42, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

"Anon." I'm not here to protect you or him I would just like you to know that many people are on Wikipedia simply to catch other's mistakes. They edit the information or if it's to far beyond help they delete. If I were to see substantial edit errors on a page I watch I would also take the same action. Also if you are going to talk something out with a user (no offense) but you should use proper grammar and spelling so that the user knows what your getting at, after all some of editors and contributors to Wikipedia are not native English speakers and have to use translators to find out what your saying. Spell-check, Rule-check and self-check before posting. --IvanTortuga (talk) 04:02, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Mars (album), is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Thank you very much for your civil and coherent reply, I do appreciate it when things can remain decent like that :-) Anyway, the issue with simply translating the titles yourself is that it breaches the policy on original research. If the translation were made by a linguistics professional, or someone who is associated with each album's respective band, then the addition of translations would be appropriate. I do also agree on most of your translations, as they are appropriate. Being German-American myself, and having taken several years of Japanese courses and spending time there, I can assure you that I am not in disagreement with the work you have done on each title, but rather any possible policy violation on articles with which I may be heavily associated. I would love to find some citations for these translations, and I have searched a bit between my house cleaning and some other Wikipedia-related tasks, however I think for now, the translations should be omitted. I will absolutely inform you as soon as I find sources and include you in the process of adding them in. I hope all of this makes sense, since I know a lot of the Wikipedia policy jargon can get a bit overwhelming. Thanks! --Jacob Talk 21:24, 29 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Those sites are good for personal research, but unfortunately, they wouldn't meet Wikiepdia's WP:RELIABLE guideline. Most sites you find that have lyrics and musical interpretation will be user-generated, and thus they usually aren't fact-checked or moderated by experts of musical and linguistic interpretation. The posts on these sites are largely self-published by fans, and would fail WP:SPS. --Jacob Talk 00:13, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
At least you have made use of the WP:BOLD policy ;-) It's not a big problem either, I'm glad it can come out without a bitter rivalry as so many debates end on here. I'm no genius either, as I'm often called on policies I don't know. I've refused adminship once already, as I just find it to be a bit of a stuffy position. I hope this doesn't deter you from contributing in the future, and I'd love to help if you ever have any questions. Best regards! --Jacob Talk 00:59, 30 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for uploading Image:Final fantasy crystal chronicles.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Alice in Pictures II

edit

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Alice in Pictures II, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/detailview.html?KEY=KIBM-172. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Block

edit

I was originally going to warn you about your copy-paste move of to Ootori (EP), and tell you that in that case, the kanji is read as "hō." However, it is clear that you have had multiple issues concerning copyright, including a copy-paste of a CDJapan listing. For this, you have been indefinitely blocked.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 02:02, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

The first thing i done wrong, was copy and pasted information regarding a music video DVD from cdjapan.com, but i thoguht that was okay since that information was basically a tracklisting for a DVD, but i guess that is not allowed so i promise i will not do it again, second, i do not see anything wrong with moving an artickle to its correct title not the faulty one, from to Ootori (EP), so can someone make it either clear to me how this is wrong, or could you please unblock me because i am not here on Wikipedia for pointless reasons, i contribute here to the community.

Decline reason:

Your response seems to indicate that you don't really understand what you did wrong. It's not a specific action that's the problem, it's your approach. Mangojuicetalk 20:21, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

As for the page move, the problem was the cut and paste nature of the move -- you should use the "move" button, because when you cut and paste, you effectively remove writing credit from all the previous authors... and if people later edit your version it can be very hard to fix the problem. Plus, Ryulong seems to disagree with the need for that particular move. I don't think this was itself the basis for the block, but it is a copyright related issue which is the common theme. Copyright stuff isn't that hard to understand, but people who are good contributors that don't understand copyright can actually do a lot of damage even while intending to be helpful. So I suggest you read a bit about copyrights in general, and specifically about Wikipedia's policy on non-free content and about the GFDL, the license Wikipedia uses. After that, try to answer these questions, if you request unblocking again.
  1. What is copyright?
  2. What is plagiarism?
  3. How do you avoid breaking copyrights?
  4. Can you give some examples of things you've done in the past that you would do differently now?
  5. When can a copyrighted image be used on Wikipedia?
  6. When can copyrighted text be used on Wikipedia?
  7. What is a "fair use rationale" and why do we need one?

Mangojuicetalk 20:21, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Additionally, the move you performed was incorrect. the album is titled Hou, and the lettering after the kanji are an instance of furigana (hiragana added to facilitate pronunciation of given kanji). IF your field of expertise does not include romanization, it would be wise to consult someone who understands/has experience with romanizing. --Jacob Talk 20:52, 8 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

  1. What is copyright? : its a legal concept enacted by the government, it gives the creator more control to the thing that is copyrighted, such as its distribution and use.
  2. What is plagiarism? : its the imitation of another authors work, for example, re wording of a copywrited article.
  3. How do you avoid breaking copyrights? By getting the authors permision, after 50 years from the date the copyright was done
  4. Can you give some examples of things you've done in the past that you would do differently now? copy and pasted information about a DVD from cdjapan, i would now only use the actual tracklisting, not including the information written about it.
  5. When can a copyrighted image be used on Wikipedia? Only on fairuse occasions, such as cover arts, or after the copyright ends (50 years)
  6. When can copyrighted text be used on Wikipedia? brief quatations of the copyrighted text can be used
  7. What is a "fair use rationale" and why do we need one? its the ability to use copyrighted things at fair use, its to aid wikipedia artickles

Decline reason:

You need to really learn this stuff and give answers that are convincing. This is not. Mangojuicetalk 05:58, 9 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
