editPlease do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Fast parallel proteolysis (FASTpp), without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. A mainteinance template is not a badge of shame -it simply implies there is something to fix in the way the article is written. Please don't remove them without discussion, and try instead to fix the issues they highlight. Thanks! Cyclopiatalk 12:46, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
Hello, David P Minde. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Fast parallel proteolysis (FASTpp), you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. I also recommend reading WP:SELFCITE. As a fellow academic I understand you want publicity for your work, but editing about your own stuff is delicate. Cyclopiatalk 14:41, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

editThank you for your contributions. Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Protein, as "minor" only if they truly are minor edits. In accordance with Help:Minor edit, a minor edit is one that the editor believes requires no review and could never be the subject of a dispute. Minor edits consist of things such as typographical corrections, formatting changes or rearrangement of text without modification of content. Additionally, the reversion of clear-cut vandalism and test edits may be labeled "minor". Thank you. Cyclopiatalk 20:04, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi, I understand your desire to add this interesting recent research to the protein article, but it contravenes Wikipedia's policies on the usage of primary sources (and perhaps conflict of interest, reading from above). Continually re-adding the same information in contravention of policy is likely to result in a block (not by me). If you think the sources are good enough to add anyway, open a discussion on the talk page so that other editors who watch the page may voice their opinion and a consensus may be formed to support or oppose its inclusion. Sasata (talk) 20:10, 30 December 2012 (UTC)
Your recent editing history at Protein shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. David, also please keep in mind that self-promotion is very, very dimly looked on here. Cyclopiatalk 12:07, 31 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, i do not know nearly as much about "Wiki ethics" as you do but i wonder if police attitude is serving the main goal of Wikipedia (, which is delivery of knowledge to the public as far as i know).

- It is, but it's not as simple as that. --Cyclopiatalk 18:36, 3 January 2013 (UTC)

Hi David, I've started transferring parts of this article over to Intrinsically_unstructured_proteins. Could you check that the conversion to prose still makes sense and add some more references and general dates? T. Shafee (Evo&Evo) (talk) 11:33, 14 March 2014 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Tim Hunt are for discussion related to improving the article, not general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. Opabinia regalis (talk) 08:13, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
- David, your point was well taken. But your personal plea - while importnat - is not part of encyclopedic text.
- if you wish, you can write informatively about pleas of multiple well known personalities to restore him etc. and cite the relevant arguments. Such points should be relayed curtly, and better to be based on publicly available sources, to be in encyclopedic style Jazi Zilber (talk) 20:28, 21 July 2015 (UTC)
David, Wikipedia is not a forum and it is inappropriate to use our pages as a place for advocacy or making pleas to the general public. This is true of talk pages just as it is of article space. This type of content belongs in a place like a personal blog. Please do not post this material again, in any namespace. Thanks. Opabinia regalis (talk) 19:58, 23 July 2015 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for March 18
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited AXIN1, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages APC and CBD. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
