Hi David, your partner introduction
editHow are you? My name is Jason Evans, and I'm your Wikipedia partner for this course. This is my first time being anything but a consumer of Wikipedia, so it should be pretty interesting. Look forward to working with you. Dugalmaguire (talk) 15:14, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
- Forgot to mention, Leonardtown is a great area. I'm from Annapolis, but I'm up in Frederick now. I do miss being close to the water. Dugalmaguire (talk) 15:22, 11 February 2013 (UTC)
- We like the Leonardtown area. We've been here for about 7 years now, with a 2-year (or so) stint in between in Dallas. Southern Maryland can take some getting used to, but as long as you can accept that it takes about 45 min to get anywhere, it's fine. Davidwhanks (talk) 02:50, 12 February 2013 (UTC)
- I guess there is only 1 or 2 roads in and out of there.Dugalmaguire (talk) 16:05, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Help us improve the Wikipedia Education Program
editHi Davidwhanks! As a student editor on Wikipedia, you have a lot of valuable experience about what it's like to edit as a part of a classroom assignment. In order to help other students like you enjoy editing while contributing positively to Wikipedia, it's extremely helpful to hear from real student editors about their challenges, successes, and support needs. Please take a few minutes to answer these questions by clicking below. (Note that the responses are posted to a public wiki page.) Thanks!

Initial Article review
editHi David. It looks like we got generally good reviews on our initial offering. One of the things we should probably do, as both reviewers mentioned it, is look at phasing out the answers.com reference. It seems like it should be fairly easy to do, probably even with our current set of references. Other than that, it seems like a matter of touch-up and continued addition of material, what do you think? Thanks. Dugalmaguire (talk) 15:52, 14 April 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Jason, yes, the comments were good and gave us some areas we can quickly and easily take action on. I ran out of time in completing a couple of the sections I was working on, so between adding meat to those sections and incorporating the suggestions, that should be enough to go on for weeks 11 and 12. The challenge in doing heavily-scientific pages is to "thread the needle" between presenting the information and doing so in an easy-to-absorb way for the average layperson. Looks like we're off to a good start. I will start to work in their suggestions this week, with my focus next week to add to the article. Cheers, Davidwhanks (talk) 02:52, 15 April 2013 (UTC)
