Protected pages

edit

I noticed you added the {{sprotected}} template to the article Doctor's Advocate. Adding that template doesn't protect the article. In order for protection it needs to be done by an Administrators, by requesting it at Requests for page protection. --Ted87 08:47, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I added a request for protection form anonymous and new users. We'll see if it gets accepted. --Ted87 08:59, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply
Just go to Wikipedia:Requests for page protection, read the instructions, and request an article. I already nominated Doctor's Advocate and it is now protected. --Ted87 21:46, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I din't create any of the BWS pages except for Juice (rapper). I just monitor/maintain them. --Ted87 21:57, 22 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Iskin

edit

I proposed it for deletion. You are free to remove the tag, but I will take the article to AfD. Please also read WP:Notability. Yanksox 22:21, 18 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Iskin article

edit

Regarding your concerns:

  • First off, the article right now is just one line of text with a bunch of links. Editor/reviewers catch things like this as "spam" or advertising.
  • To bring it into WP:CORP compliance, it would be good to include in the article references or reviews from independent 3rd party sources (and not just links). What you're trying to do is show notariety, not from internal sources, but from external sources.
  • An infobox Template:Infobox Company is helpful, but not mandatory.
  • Pictures are also helpful - make sure they are uploaded with the proper copyright tags - Help:Image_page#Fair_use_rationale
  • You can see the reasons that companies are deleted/kept in the archive for other corporations afd nominations -[1].

Article title
This is a known glitch in the Wiki software. Articles begin by default with a capital letter, even if it's supposed to be small. They're working on that. So, the proper link should be [[Iskin]] which results in Iskin. Any other capitalization will give a red-link (non existing article).

To upload the logo:

  • Look to the left side of the screen: toolbox: Upload file:
  • From that page: make sure you have the logo on your hard drive - click the 'browse' button and follow the instructions.
  • file must be in 'png', 'gif', 'jpg'/'jpeg', or 'ogg' format
  • in the Summary box, include the source of the file (where you got it from (i.e. their website), and then add the following tag: {{Computer hardware logo}} (without the 'nowiki' stuff - just the double brackets and the words)
  • the licensing box sould be marked as 'logo', which is about the 25th item down
  • click upload - and your logo will appear on that page.

To include the logo (or picture) on the page,

  • click "edit this page"
  • scroll down to where you want the logo then type in

[[Image:whatever.wht]] there are tons of options, but this will get it on the page

  • if you want it in the infobox, the infobox should have a line that says logo = , simply type whatever.wht on the line without the [[Image... stuff
  • click save page, and that should get the logo/pic on the page.

If all else fails, contact me and you can e-mail me the image and I'll get it on the page.SkierRMH 02:18, 20 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

additions

edit

For each of the paragraphs (except for references), give a good description of the product (picture optional). Then go back to WP:CORP and make sure that the basics required there are included somewhere in the article. THat should appease the deletionists. SkierRMH 20:48, 24 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Juice (rapper)

edit

It was deleted becuase it didn't meet Wikipedia's policy for notability. As far as a single goes it's hard to tell. Black Wall Street dosen't really have much going for it now. --Ted87 07:18, 7 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
