I am co-founder of FactCheck.org, where I currently hold the title of Director Emeritus.
I am mostly retired, but still work for the website from my home in southern Maryland.
I am a journalist, having worked for The Associated Press in New York (1967-1970) and Washington (1970-1980). I was a reporter in the Washington bureau of the Wall Street Journal from 1980 to 1990, and was a correspondent in CNN's Washington Bureau from 1990 to 2003.
In 2003 I joined the Washington, DC staff of the Annenberg Public Policy Center of the University of Pennsylvania, headed by UPenn's Kathleen Hall Jamieson. Together, Jamieson and I launched FactCheck.org in December 2003.
