Chadian-Sudanese conflict

A long time ago you voted against moving the page to Chadian-Sudanese War. You might want to reconsider your vote, based on new information documented in the latest Human Rights Watch report on the situation. Yesterday French troops were deployed in Borota, Chad to fight Sudanese militias[2] and the Janjaweed, Sudanese military, and RDL rebels apparently worked together to "empty villages" in eastern Chad. At least over 1,000 people have died, and the conflict is definitely not over despite the signing of the Tripoli Accord. I am urging other users to do the same. KI 00:32, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Requesting short translation

I'm working on translating a biography from Italian to English, in order to write a featured article. If possible, can you please translate just this paragraph:

Se il giovin quale Ulpian, Bartolo e Baldo
Disturban spesso e l'aspra inopia e dura
Non viene afforza al poetar men saldo,
E a l'avvocar rivolti ogni sua cura;
Io per certo infiammato esser e caldo
A fare il veggio un'immortal scrittura,
Gli dia la vita il Ciel, sostegno e 'l nido,
E 'l gran Cosmo udirà, d'altr'opra il grido (1).

Hello

Thanks for your solidarity, but the tag is very POV, may suggest rephrasing Supports Russian Terriotorial integrity--Kuban Cossack 20:38, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Serbophobia

Serbophobia has become a real article. I think it's no more POV or Original Research. I'll look into it in a day or two, there are some things that need to be removed but generaly the article had finaly become encyclopedian. --Milan Tešovic 17:05, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

I prefer talking in English on English Wikipedia. Everything on a wiki, including users talk pages is public, and how can it be public if you talk in language that others can't understand? --Milan Tešovic 17:21, 18 March 2006 (UTC)

Ti u Serbophobia dodaješ sve moguće nacio-šovinizme prema Srbima. A da mi ovo prebacimo na Anti-serbism? Odgovori mi na mojoj korisničkoj strani --Milan Tešovic 22:38, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Nacionalizam kao negativni pojam = nacio-šovinizam. Mi obično kažemo nacionalizam, iako je nacionalizam ustvari pojam koji označava postojanje nacije, i objašnjava druge pojmove kao patriotizam i sl. --Milan Tešovic 22:58, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Metal Poll

Hello there. I am an overseer of your brain. I have come to tell you that the Wikimetal Project is holding a poll on the inclusion of certain genres on the heavy metal template and footer that goes onto metal related articles. This poll has a closing date, however, and so here i am, reminding you to vote if you want to, by pumping strange chemicals through your veins. Its hard work being a brain you know!

If you would like to help in this crucial part of the project, the page is here. No, thats not it? Oh my! I posted those pictures of myself, what a devil i am. No the actuall link is here on this link.

I guess ill see you at breakfest when you finally recover from Wikipedia. Bye for now body, your Brain 07:10, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Kurt Leyman (talk · contribs) is a sneaky vandal and wont stop changeing items if you ask him. He has changed many items in many articles without stateing sources. Non-commercial images

Hi, you might want to check out {{noncommercial}} - images that have a licence saying "can be used freely for non-commercial purposes" are utterly unacceptable on Wikipedia and can be deleted on sight! Personally I find this a bit odd, given the way we use fair use and very restrictively copyrighted images... nevertheless, if you upload a "noncommercial" image in future, you will have to do so under "fair use" provisions, not "noncommercial" ones. Weird, isn't it? :-/ TheGrappler 23:58, 15 April 2006 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Obznana kragujevac.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Obznana kragujevac.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

POV tag on Anti-Croatian sentiment

Hello! Please explain how the article is POV, in your view. You haven't explained it on the talk page, even though even the text of the template shows that you are expected to. If you don't explain it, I think the tag should be removed. --85.187.44.131 12:18, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

You still haven't explained what's wrong with the article; you should give some sensible arguments that it is "nationalist propaganda"; and as for Osli's statements, they are also both un-argued for and dated, since the page has changed since he wrote them. You should point at something concrete which is wrong or misleading. If not, I think the POV tag should be removed. --85.187.44.131 13:55, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Not war

As it stands, the current Israeli attacks on Lebanon are not war. Israeli Prime Minister claims that "Lebanon" has committed an "act of war" but no such declaration has been made by either Israel, or Lebanon, and Hizb Allah are not a soverign state. How Lebanon, and Syria, react may change that.--Irishpunktom\talk 10:37, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict titlepic.png. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so please also include the source of the image; in most cases the website where you found it.

Please signify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Since this composite includes Image:An IDF M109 self-propelled howitzer fires into Southern Lebanon.png, you need to make a fair use claim to keep it on Wikipedia. Thanks -SCEhardT 03:56, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

Islamic State of Afghanistan

That war box is unwarranted. The ruins are meaningless. Afghanistan has always been a least developed country with ruins somewhere at all times.

There was no civil war. Some people want to call everything civil war and say everyone is dying, issue false death certificates (This never happens in the U.S.), and exaggerate.--Patchouli 02:32, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Taliban government

The existence of an opposition group with sporadic fighting is not "civil war". The Taliban ruled 95% of the country.

Taliban Regime (1996-2001), Taliban government 1996-2001--Patchouli 18:30, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

In Iraq, the Iraqi government does not control 16 provinces and people don't call it a "civil war".16 provinces that are still under the control of U.S. troops.--Patchouli 01:41, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
  • The repressive Taliban brought a semblance of stability. If you wish to call it a civil war, then the article should qualify it by explaining that relative to the period prior to 1996, the clashes had abated substantially.

In the Sri Lankan case, there was a cease-fire 2002-2006. --Patchouli 11:24, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Apache channel10.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Apache channel10.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box.
