Hi, Deaghaidh~enwiki! You've indicated through various means (a userbox, membership in a category, etc) that you are part of the Wikipedia LGBT community, or are interested in Wikipedia's LGBT related pages. Welcome! You may not know that Wikipedia has both an LGBT Notice Board and an LGBT Studies WikiProject. If you haven't yet done so, take a look at both of them. They sorely need attention and participation! Some things on the "To-Do List" that merit particular attention include: Identifying topics/pages that need attention Identifying problems that need addressing Adding the LGBT template to appropriate pages Categorizing LGBT pages Please feel free to participate in any or all of these activities! And if you feel like it, add yourself to either the Noticeboard Members or the WikiProject Participants - or both!

Hello, I'm writing here to let you know that I've recently begun a discussion to review the deleted and redirected Category:Gay Wikipedians (which now points to Category:LGBT Wikipedians. instead of being it's own category) If you have the time, please add your thoughts on the deletion review to the current Discussion. The developer team at Wikimedia is making some changes to how accounts work, as part of our on-going efforts to provide new and better tools for our users like cross-wiki notifications. These changes will mean you have the same account name everywhere. This will let us give you new features that will help you edit and discuss better, and allow more flexible user permissions for tools. One of the side-effects of this is that user accounts will now have to be unique across all 900 Wikimedia wikis. See the announcement for more information.

A bit of genealogy at WikiConference North America this weekend
