editHello, I'm Cassiopeia. I noticed that in this edit to Naoya Inoue, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Cassiopeia talk 03:42, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Cassiopeia, I have been editing the "Naoya Inoue" page for a short time. Recently, someone has been making edits that I feel are not needed and add nothing to the information found on the page. Here is an example of edits that I feel serve no purpose and fill up the page with meaningless text: "Inoue battered Hernández, like an unknown singer on the X Factor blowing everyone away the second she opens her mouth." - See comments on my talk page. stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 00:31, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
Naoya Inoue
editHey if you like we can remove the like an unknown singer on the X Factor blowing everyone away the second she opens her mouth. And Like a pint sized George Foreman part. I think you are right they serve no purpose. Ronten5 (talk) 01:16, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you. Cassiopeia says we should also remove all the "play-by-play content" meaning the descriptions of what happened during his fights. Deaxmann (talk) 01:24, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- I think play by play should stay as they are for significant bouts. For insignificant bouts they are no play by play description.Ronten5 (talk) 01:25, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- I think it's possible but we would have to edit it down to lose all the flowery parts. We would need to be as neutral as we can. Deaxmann (talk) 01:30, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- They only play by play description exist for the Nery fight, which was the biggest fight of Inoue's career. And I'm not sure if there are any flowery parts, since everything thats written was what happened during the fight and I think we should leave it as it is. - I disagree. I think the whole description is flowery. Remember, we just need to write the facts. "20 seconds after the opening bell, Inoue did as his fans hoped, launched a right-hand missile but it missed by a mile. No matter, Inoue went swinging for it again. Two times. Three times. And then, as both attempted wild strikes, Nery missed a left hook by a huge margin. Then, suddenly, as the fighters came in close and Inoue attacked, he had left himself wide open and Nery saw a gap. The Mexican southpaw reached around the corner with a left hook, and the impossible was on. Inoue spiraled to the canvas. Inoue appeared clear in his eyes and listened to the count of referee Michael Griffin while perched on one knee." I don't think any of this is necessary. This works for an article written about the match but not for a wikipedia page. I would instead write something like "In the first round, Inoue was dropped to the canvas for the first time in his career by way of a left hook. Inoue returned the favor, sending Nery down to the canvas in the 2nd, 5th and finally in the 6th round to win the fight by TKO." That gets straight to the point and neatly sums up the high points of the bout. Deaxmann (talk) 01:55, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- I had cleaned up the part of about fans had hoped and listening to ref's count while pperched on one knee.
- But the part In the first round, Inoue was dropped to the canvas for the first time in his career by way of a left hook. Inoue returned the favor, sending Nery down to the canvas in the 2nd, 5th and finally in the 6th round to win the fight by TKO." Is way too short for bout this significant. - Hey you should read what you wrote. This is your revision and it makes no sense. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Naoya_Inoue&diff=prev&oldid=1257846342 2607:FEA8:639F:8740:1CD5:D81F:8BF7:B66 (talk) 23:29, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
