Jacqueline Kahanoff

edit

Just in case you didn't see it at the help desk. The way in which pages are linked to their equivalents on other Language wikipedia is with interlanguage links, which are over on the left hand side. The English, Hebrew and Arabic versions of her page are in a single entry in what is called "Wikidata" so if a page on her were created in French, you'd click the edit links and then add fr:Jacqueline Kahanoff to that (I would expect her name would be the same in French). Generally, the only time that Interlanguage links would be used in the text is if you would like to link to a page in your language, but it doesn't exist yet. Like if a Polish King had an English language wikipedia article, and you want to link to his mother in the article, but the only place that has the mother's page is in the Polish Wikipedia, you could link that way.

As for the way to indicate the way to do the transliterations for names and linking, take a look at someone like David ben Gurion or Golda Meir or see Help:Interlanguage links. Let me know if you would like additional help.Naraht (talk) 18:00, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply

I am having a hard time following these instructions. I tried again following the guidelines in interlanguage links, but the link is still not appearing.
My question is what do you want to add? The way that Interlanguage Links works, there is *already* a way to go from the Hebrew Wikipedia version of the article to the English (over on the right hand side in the Hebrew since everything is flipped) and as such, it doesn't need to be actually in the article text.Naraht (talk) 19:21, 20 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
