Copyright Problems
editHi Deeptii- Thanks for your recent contributions to some of the articles dealing with Theravada Buddhism. Unfortunately, some of the material can't be accepted by Wikipedia at present; the contents of the additions that you made to the Buddhist Councils and Mahasi Sayadaw pages infringe on the copyright of the original authors of these pages: [1] [2]. Wikipedia isn't allowed to incorporate copyrighted material from the web without the author's permission; even if one or both of these articles has been released into the public domain, as the identity of the original author is available, they should be credited as the authors of the material, and the claims made in their articles ultimately need to be sourced as well. In general, it's preferable to let articles be developed over time, incorporating material like this in the form of cited and paraphrased sources rather than simply copying large amounts of someone elses's text into the encyclopedia. These two articles will have to be reverted; you might want to take a look atWP:Copyrights for information about how to incorporate this material into Wikipedia. Thanks. --Clay Collier 10:56, 1 June 2006 (UTC)

editPlease do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Mahayana. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Seba5618 (talk) 03:52, 28 March 2009 (UTC)
External Links
editQuite right, I barely look at the site. But that's irrelevant, spamming wikipedia pages with external links is against the external links policy. Check WP:SPAMMER... --Seba5618 (talk) 03:59, 28 March 2009 (UTC) It appears to be someone's website, and thus fails WP:EL if for no other reason. Dougweller (talk) 12:29, 29 March 2009 (UTC)
