License tagging for Image:FCCSeal.png

edit

Thanks for uploading Image:FCCSeal.png. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 20:05, 17 May 2006 (UTC)

Opinio

edit

Opinio has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt the subject might not be notable enough for an article. Please review Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability for the relevant concerns. An example of notability guidelines can be found at Wikipedia:Notability (websites). If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.

If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod notice, the deletion process will stop, but if an editor is still not satisfied that the article meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for consensus. Wikimocracy

A tag has been placed on Wikimocracy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on Talk:Wikimocracy. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thanks. — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 20:44, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Peoplandard

edit

The article Peoplandard has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Pascal.Tesson 20:57, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Moved Discussion

edit

I thought that this wiki isn't like a blog or forum which include only personal opinions. Isn't this a real wiki which includes also background informations? Personal opinions are only shown on votings.--Washio 21:04, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

This article has already been deleted twice. Per policy, Wikipedia articles about non-notable web sites qualify for speedy deletion. =Axlq 21:10, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yup. Axlq is quite correct. The relevant guidline is WP:WEB. If it's met, then the article probably shouldn't be deleted. If it isn't, then it probably will be, it it hasn't been already --Bfigura (talk) 21:13, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
OK, I've read Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion as I've written the first line. If you talk about reliability, maybe this site isn't enough. Do you think there is any site of web 2.0 which is really reliable?--Washio 21:33, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
The question isn't only is it reliable. It's is it notable? So if you can find reliable independent sources (ie, sources that meet WP:RS) which discuss the topic of the article, then that would be a step forward in proving notability. But in general, Web 2.0 sites can be notable, but they aren't considered reliable sources. (So, we can have an article about Slashdot if we can prove they're notable, but we can't cite Slashdot as a source). Does that make sense? PS: I'm moving this discussion to your talk page in case this page is deleted (which it probably will be shortly, since it's a talk page for a non-existent article). Best, --Bfigura (talk) 21:44, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Isn't it an internet forum, this "slashdot"?--Washio 22:03, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, it is. However, it's been found to be notable (as defined by WP:N), which is why we have an article about it here. Let me know if I'm not answering your question, or am being unclear. Best, --Bfigura (talk) 22:17, 1 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion of ZESPRI International

edit

A tag has been placed on ZESPRI International, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per speedy deletion criterion A1.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. Nburden (T) 08:37, 25 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Krefeld

edit

Grüße aus den Vereinigten Staaten! I noted your recent change to the Krefeld article in the English-language Wikipedia. I'm curious as to why you chose to use "territories" as a translation for the word "Stadtgebiet" as used in the German-language article on Krefeld. Xenophon777 04:43, 28 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Image:Ratanakiri topography.svg

edit

Thanks for your help making this image! One question: how did you decide what the colors would be? Calliopejen1 (talk) 12:26, 16 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

The darker colors indicate the higher altitude. As reference, I used terrain maps at maps.google.com. However, I did neither copy nor automatically traced the map, but redrew exclusively the topographical information. Comparing to the map of cambodia available at Cambodia journey/Places To Go, the yellow area is up to about 150 m, the light green area up to about 200m and the dark green part up to about 600m above the sea level. The colors don't meet the Wikimedia standard yet and therefore you could change it.--Demoeconomist (talk) 16:37, 17 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:FCCSeal.png

edit

A tag has been placed on File:FCCSeal.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 05:43, 6 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
