Just wanted to get some advice on a page where the info/verifiability seems a little fishy, and a lot of the text seems to be the opinion/original research of one person (please correct me if I'm wrong!). The "Working Terrier" page seems to have been defended pretty territorially by its creator whenever citations have been requested or verifiability has been questioned. (Please note that there is another conversation regarding hunting/controversy/animal rights on its Talk page -- this has nothing to do with that issue)
- In the Early history section, this sentence jumps out: "...and most histories were invented or dramatically elaborated on by get-rich-quick breed promoters."
- Also, I have no clue how exactly which flag should be used for the Rootstock and Tools and technique sections, as they contain issues with verifiability/citation as well as with tone ("What of all of the other Kennel Club breeds of terriers? Most of these terrier were never true working terriers. Some..."
In a nutshell, it looks like this page has had quite the edit war and I just wanted to let somebody know about it (someone who knows more about Wikipedia-specific procedure than I do) :)
Thank you! Demonkey36 (talk) 02:58, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- If nothing else has worked, you can go to the edit war noticeboard. However, that's kind of a last resort. I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 04:50, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
