Please read before posting
editOne cannot just insert personal opinions into Wikipedia articles. Instead material must be verified to reliable sources, conform with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, and not consist of original research. Your insertion violated all three policies. Please review them carefully before posting again. Jayjg (talk) 03:17, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
- No, Wikipedia editors are not reliable sources. Please read WP:V and WP:RS thoroughly to understand what Wikipedia considers reliable sources to be. Jayjg (talk) 03:33, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Your recent edits
editHi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 04:56, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Deleting posts?
editI didn't delete your posts, a different admin did, describing them as "rants". Please use article Talk: pages to discuss proposed changes to article content, not other editors. Jayjg (talk) 03:25, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
- Wikipedia isn't a "free-speech" zone, and article Talk: pages aren't bulletin boards. Jayjg (talk) 00:55, 19 August 2008 (UTC)
Chosen People
editHi -- thanks for your note. Can you help me catch up a bit? What was it that began your concern?
As for chosenness, most religious groups believe that there is some special purpose they are called to. Christianity believes that only in Christ are we saved. Islam believes that only in submission to the Prophet can we find our true destiny. Judaism belives that "the righteous of all nations have a share in the world to come." But, as most religions, they do feel that they have been called to be a light to those very nations, to encourage more to be righteous and have that share.
Also, each religious group allows converts to join in their special mission. Anyone can believe in Christ, be saved, and help spread the word. Islam believes that anyone can submit to God and the revelation of the prophet and join the realm of peace. And Judaism believes that anyone can become a Jew.
And I, in fact, am someone who did just that.
So I'm not quite sure which angle is your concern, but I'm more than willing to listen.
All the best,
May 2011
