"Disputes" as to which sites should be kept
editI noticed you wrote this in your edit summary. There is no dispute as far as the WP:CPOP front goes, and as far as WP:EL goes. Fan sites are only kept if they provide information that cannot already be found on verifiable third-party news sources. Most, if not all, C-pop fan sites will derive their news from newspapers or online news sources. Lollipop was formed after 2002, so news sources can be easily found online. On several online news sources, there are also a number of articles on Mayday's beginnings on various news sites. What this means that practially all news found on fan forums is rehashed. Without news, what do you get in fan forums? Image galleries, fan-made images, and useless banter. For this very reason, fan forums do not fit under the WP:EL guideline. So in the future, please don't confuse people that there is some kind of dispute about external links. Because there isn't. Pandacomics (talk) 12:33, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oh trust me, there's no such thing as "the possibility of people adding fansites." People end up fansites...ALL THE TIME. Sigh. It's probably never going to stop, and it's horrendously annoying. And I guess I misinterpreted your edit summary. Keep up the stuff with the Mayday/Lollipop articles.Pandacomics (talk) 13:06, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
thank u
editthank u for the feedback Dessymona. I'm just a person that thinks some of the info i have is unique. if i was doing it for advertisement, there would be 100 links a day and probably a lot of wrong ones but i have taken things that seemed beneficial , newsworthy or exclusive information that is only listed in one place (much like box office mojo..a site i love!! :)) I thank you for your feedback as I'm new to this and welcome any more that you might have as I said to CKatz..if you ever feel like doing a little 101 lesson, i'm all for it!!! :) in the meantime, ill read through the "how to" again. Thank you!! --Amyreelz (talk) 13:52, 7 September 2008 (UTC)
Rollback?
editI was thinking that you might consider applying for rollback rights. I've seen you all over the Twilight page, rv'ing vandalism. Because I'm not an administrator, I can't grant them to you, but I'm encouraging you to apply for it. It'll make reverting vandalism a lot easier. If y'want to apply, just go here. Keep up the good work, Dessymona! IceUnshattered [ t ] 17:49, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks, Icy, for your tip. I've been thinking about applying for the rollback rights, and your comment prompted me to do that. Dessymona (talk) 15:22, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- You're welcome! If you think you deserve something, don't hesitate. I see from the below message your request was granted :). Not a surprise. IceUnshattered [ t ] 22:49, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Rollback granted
editYour request for rollback has been granted. Remember that if you are not 100% sure an edit is vandalism, don't use it. Happy editing! WilliamH (talk) 14:10, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
