added tag on your profile

edit

Hello, i'm notifying you that i have added a conflict of interest tag on your profile, since you have publicly stated that you're a moderator for Grace Van Dien, based on this talk thread Talk:Grace Van Dien. Http iosue (talk) 01:50, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

Okay, not sure what that does but okay! Dinah29 (talk) 01:53, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Conflict of interest (COI) editing is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia. You have to publicly disclose on your profile that you are related to Grace, so other editors know about it. Please see the rules for COI editing on WP:Conflict of interest before doing edits on Grace Van Dien page. Http iosue (talk) 02:05, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Okay, but I don't actually talk to her unless she reaches out to me? Which I guess can't be proven but I live in another country, she doesn't follow me anywhere, we don't really talk like that. All I do is delete rude comments and spam on her twitch chat sometimes. All the edits I made, minus the first edit that she asked for help with, are because I'm a fan. The fact that you are her Twitch moderator and that Grace contacted you to help edit her wikipedia page means you have a conflict of interest, whether or not you only did it for one edit. There's a couple Twitch streamer pages that are made by their moderator, which are fine, but you still have to publicly disclose it. You can still help delete vandalism and rude comments on her wiki page as long as there's COI tag on your page. Http iosue (talk) 02:33, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Nono that's fine! I'm asking because I don't know what specifically I need to disclose/how to avoid being seen as way closer than I am, because ultimately I'm more of a fan than a moderator and I wouldn't want to not be able to add information regarding her acting career that I find about by being a fan because of that, you know? Dinah29 (talk) 02:36, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
COI editing is avoided generally because there's a lot of "editors" that deletes controversial stuff about them on their wiki page, example: elon musk, microsoft, etc.
My advice probably just dont be biased when editing the persons wiki page. From your edits history it seems like you're fine, so don't worry about it. Http iosue (talk) 02:48, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
Oh, okay gotcha! Yeah, all I do is add movie credits lol I'll try to add that to my page, not fully sure how but I'll try. Thanks for the heads up! Dinah29 (talk) 02:50, 10 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
