VWN en WCN

Beste allemaal Al enige tijd is er een Nederlandstalig chapter in oprichting, te vinden op http://nl.wikimedia.org . Dit wordt de Vereniging Wikimedia Nederland (VWN). Je kunt je interesse om lid te worden van deze vereniging hier aangeven.

Deze vereniging gaat eind augustus/begin september een Wikimedia Conferentie in Nederland (WCN) houden, volgend op Wikimania in Boston, gedeeltelijk erop inspelend middels een aantal discussiegroepen. Om iets dergelijks te organiseren is imput erg gewenst. Dus als je wilt meehelpen, of als je interesse hebt om bij een dergelijk evenement aanwezig te zijn, geef dat dan aan op nl.wikimedia. Tja, ik heb eigenlijk geen idee waarom
ik destijds voor zo'n rare beschrijving
gekozen heb.

Ik denk dat ik zat met 'themakanaal'.
Als ik dat gebruik, 'theme channel',
wekt het de indruk dat het een waar
televisiestation is.

Ik moet erbij zeggen dat ik nog
nooit /Geschiedenis gekeken heb,
omdat ik in Canada woon.
Dus het kan zijn dat ik het concept
van die themakanalen niet helemaal snap.

Ik heb de bovestaande suggestie alvast gebruikt op de artikelpagina, maar ik hoor graag je mening.

Het is me niet duidelijk waar ik nou dien te

correponderen op Wikipedia. Moet ik nu hier

schrijven in response op je schrijven op mijn

'talk'-pagina ?

Enfin, het begrip 'specialty channel'

zegt me ook niets. Waarshijnlijk omdat ik ook

al geen canadese tv kijk.

Er staat onder 'specialty channel' dat het met

name een canadees begrip is, en dus niet geschikt,

lijkt me, voor een internationale form van het engels.

Bovendien had ik begrepen dat er meerdere

themakanalen op Nederland 4 vertoond worden.

En dan zou 'specialty channel' dus niet de

juiste indruk geven, want er is, als ik het

goed begrijp, dus geen tv kanaal met enkel

geschiedenisgerelateerde programma's. Of wel?

Hoe dan ook, kun je de huidige beschrijving

gaarne controleren en indien nodig verbeteren?
