Yellow Dog
editHi Djoeyd. Thanks for your contributions to the encyclopedia. I started the Yellow Dog River and Yellow Dog Plains articles. I'm curious --where is the large-scale logging going on? Do you know of any online sources that could confirm it? Just curious. Thanks, Fang Aili talk 19:10, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
re: Yellow Dog
editHi Fang, Sorry if I took too long to resond, I am getting used to Wiki. Im not sure of online sources however most of the land holdings on the plains alon the Tripple A are held by logging companies, or companies that have sold their logging rights ie Long Year, etc. I dont have a plat for that area of MQT county but it is public domain. In fact the picture that is on the page for the yellow dog plains is an excellent example of the logging going on in the area, the area pictured is probably about 2 years after a cutting. If you want to talk about this more please do so, but I will apologize for my lack of Wiki skills (bear with me!)
Thanks Joe (djoeyd114)
- Thanks for your response, Joe. Don't worry about your wiki skills--you're doing fine! --Fang Aili talk 13:46, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
MTU
editJust a note -- actually, MTU does still have a mining program, but only at a graduate level (MS and PhD) and as a minor. Your deletion makes sense, as the position the information was in was about undegrad programs. But, the programs do still exist. -- dcclark (talk) 21:04, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
Crandon Mine
editI saw the edits to the Crandon mine article. I originally adapted that from an essay I wrote, so I'll be the first to admit some POV issues. You appear to be just the person to correct them. If you're bored, wikipedia could use an article on White Pine mine. I wrote a related one on Bad River Train Blockade, but the issues surrounding that mine are much bigger. Thanks, and welcome, Leo1410 21:56, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
C&H
editPlease feel free to add what ever you can to the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company article. I was still at Tech when they began dewatering by bailing the shaft (I think in 1973), but I graduated that year, and don't remember how it turned out.
If you have some time, I started articles on Copper Range Company and Copper mining in the United States that could use some knowledgeable review.Plazak 17:53, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Re: Off Topic, Mining

Oil shale
editHi, Joe. I wonder if you may be interested to help developing Oil shale and its spin-off articles. I listed Oil shale for the new peer review and related spin-off articles (Oil shale extraction, Oil shale geology, Oil shale industry, History of the oil shale industry, Oil shale reserves, Oil shale economics, and Environmental effects of oil shale industry) for the peer review. Your comments and edits will be most welcome. The intention is to have these articles ready for the GA and FA nominations.Beagel 18:02, 28 August 2007 (UTC)
Merge of coal mining and sub-surface mining
editHello! Beagel pointed me to where I can find you, as you are interested in articles regarding mining. I've started a discussion regarding the merger of sub-surface mining into coal mining - I'd appreciate your opinion. Cheers and thanks in advance! --Ouro (blah blah) 10:03, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
MTR
editYour input is requested on the MTR talk page about how to phrase the opening paragraph.D-rew 21:41, 1 December 2007 (UTC)
Hi, I started a discussion about changing Category:Sub-surface mining to Category:Underground mining, I wanted to see what the thoughts of other participents of WikiProject Mining were.--kelapstick (talk) 17:48, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
