Speedy deletion contested: Rayart Pictures
editHello Dmartin969. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Rayart Pictures, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: The article makes a credible assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. Thank you. —SerialNumber54129 paranoia /cheap sh*t room 17:16, 24 May 2018 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Omaha Rapid Bus Transit, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Orphaned non-free image File:Dublin Leap Card 2018.png
editThanks for uploading File:Dublin Leap Card 2018.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:06, 29 May 2018 (UTC)
Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:18, 18 June 2018 (UTC)
Non-free image use
editHi Dmartin969. Not every file you see on Wikipedia is licensed the same way, and all a file is licensed pretty much determines how it may be used. Certain files are licensed as non-free content which means that each use of them must satisfy Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. This policy specifies that non-free image may only e used in the article namespace; in other words, they cannot be used on user pages or talk pages, in user sanboxes or in drafts, in templates, etc. If you were probably unaware of this when you added a number of non-free files to User:Dmartin969/Vehicle registration plates of the Americas and User:Dmartin969/List of Vehicle registration plates by country/territory, then that's OK; just do not add any non-free files to those pages again. If you have any questions about this you can ask at WP:MCQ or WT:NFCC. -- 01:18, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
Jazz
editI see that you've made jazz a GAN. As far as I can tell, you've never edited it. Are you going to be able to deal with the 'citation needed' tags, unreferenced paragraphs and unreferenced sections? I ask because, in its current state, the article doesn't have a chance of becoming GA... a lot of work on it is required, and by nominating it you've volunteered yourself to do all of that work. EddieHugh (talk) 10:32, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
- To help, I've added tags for the sections that don't have any sources. There are ten. I suggest that if you haven't made progress towards addressing these sourcing problems within a week that you withdraw the nomination. Having it as a GAN deters people from editing. EddieHugh (talk) 10:53, 17 September 2018 (UTC)== Um, yeah might be a good idea if you didn't revert my edits without giving a reason ==
Also, according to the statistics, I've made six times the number of edits as you have, so it would be a good idea if you didn't tag me as a new user. Thanks.
The article I was editing is an absolute mess, and I was trying to bring any kind of order to it I could find. I still think my edits made it better, but I can see how you might be wrong about that too, and revert them out of hand. Please don't do that again. ;) GliderMaven (talk) 00:43, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

September 2018
editHello Dmartin969. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that there is consensus that we shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1) and/or content (CSD A3) moments after they are created, as you did at Ali Imran Alimi. It's usually best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course still be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks. Disambiguation link notification for October 3
editHi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Navigo pass, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page RATP (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Neutral?
editWell it didn't take long to get censored here, right?
You mentioned the word neutral, however, the body of my comment called for substantiation of the defamatory claims against Mr. Meier and the FIGU organization:
"NOTE: The Swiss, non-profit organization, FIGU, is falsely listed as a "cult". This is not only defamatory but inaccurate. Anyone disagreeing should present actual evidence that: they were solicited to join, give or donate money to, visited by alleged members for the aforesaid purposes, given unasked for brochures, etc.; also show that there is a leader who must be believed, obeyed, followed uncritically, etc., as well as the consequences for not doing so. As the Authorized American Media Representative for Billy Meier, I can address such issues. There is an abundance of skepticism, which is fine, but the amount of disinformation is not only easily disproved but it begs the question as to...why all of these attacks, spanning many decades, are occurring. We already have independent corroboration from military, aerospace, scientific, photographic, special effects experts, etc. Please feel free to pose questions, challenges, etc."
I called for the substantiation for the defamatory claims, for actual evidence and you removed the comment. It's not that we aren't used to such tactics but, really, ho credible are unsubstantiated attacks, and those based on skeptical claims also ling refuted.
Since I'll be sharing this widely, I think it would be a nice touch to show some intellectual honesty and integrity. You posted unsubstantiated, defamatory nonsense by anonymous sources as if it was fact. I called for the evidence. In other words...CITE YOUR SOURCES.
Any problem with that, really?

My edit to History of the United States Republican Party on 4 October 2018
editHello and thank you for your input regarding my edit. Your reason for changing my edit was does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Unfortunately this makes no logical sense. My edit removed political biased rhetoric about US Presidential elections and the meaningless and nonsensical fixation on the popular vote totals. We do not have a national popular vote Presidential election and we never have. Popular vote totals only apply at the State election level which translate into electoral votes. It is not even a legal possibility to have a national popular election without drastically altering every aspect of our state and federal elections. A Presidential vote in Delaware is NOT in any way equal to one in California. One of MANY reasons we do not have a Federal popular vote election. Unequal votes = a null and void election just as a starter. To keep the popular vote totals of a few elections as something of relevance, importance or reasonable application is absurd and the info is confusing to the average reader at best.
" From 1992 to 2016, the Republican candidate has been elected to the White House in three of the seven presidential elections. However, two of these (the 2000 and 2016 elections) saw George W. Bush and Donald Trump losing the popular vote, but winning the Electoral College. A similar situation in which Republicans won the Electoral College, but lost the popular vote were the 1876 and 1888 elections."
'However' ? 'losing the popular vote, but winning the Electoral College'? The US Pres elections have ALWAYS been electoral College elections and NEVER been popular vote elections. Stating first that the popular vote was 'lost' is an error in fact as there was no contest over the popular vote. That alone should be cause for removal of their statements. Referring to fictitious fantasies of the loser becoming the victor in some alternative Universe where the US holds federal popular vote elections is NOT up to the standards of Wikipedia and you know it. The author is referring to an election that has never existed and statistics that do not apply to the election whatsoever. Why should political talking point rhetoric be included with statement of fact and reality ? My edit has no relevance to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). If anything it enforces it. Reinstate my edit because it is the only logical choice.

DYK for Ha! Ha! Pyramid
editOn 22 November 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ha! Ha! Pyramid, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Ha! Ha! Pyramid (pictured), a monument commemorating a flood in La Baie, Quebec, is covered in 3,000 yield signs because the French words for "to yield" and "to help" have the same pronunciation? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ha! Ha! Pyramid. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Ha! Ha! Pyramid), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
