Non-free rationale for File:Cahiers du cinema issue 1.jpg
editThanks for uploading or contributing to File:Cahiers du cinema issue 1.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nthep (talk) 17:04, 14 November 2018 (UTC)
Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Orphaned non-free image File:Cahiers du cinema issue 1.jpg
editThanks for uploading File:Cahiers du cinema issue 1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:28, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
Non-free content use
editHi The Douglas Firs. Please don't re-add this file to your sandbox again. If you've got any questions about this, feel free to ask them below or at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:19, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
Notes
editHi! Here are my notes:
- I know that this wasn't your writing, but the lead is a little confusing. It says that the magazine developed out of an earlier one involving members of members of two Paris film clubs. There are names listed after the clubs - are these people who were specifically involved with the creation of Revue du Cinéma and Cahiers du Cinéma? If they weren't involved with Cahiers du Cinéma at all, then there's no real need to list them in the article. If they were involved, but not in major roles, I'd probably just mention them in the body of the article and not the lead. This may be something to look into, but it isn't a major issue to be honest.
- Is it possible to separate the history section into subsections? The reason I mention this is because it's a huge block of text and splitting it up into something like time periods or eras could make it easier to read.
That aside, this looks like it's ready to move live. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 00:58, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- (talk page watcher)@Shalor (Wiki Ed): There already is an article titled Cahiers du cinéma in the mainspace. @Douglas Firs: Are you just working on a major expansion/improvement of that article or are you trying to create a completely new article altogether? If you're doing the former, you probably might want to be WP:CAUTIOUS and discuss things on the article talk page first; if you're doing the latter, you probably shouldn't and instead focus on improving the existing article instead. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:15, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Marchjuly: I think that they're going to be adding to the existing article - posting to the talk page isn't a bad idea, just to give people a head's up. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 01:42, 29 November 2018 (UTC)

editYour revised plot summary for House of Gucci is being tagged as being 'too long'. Could you shorten it, or should we go back to the older version which was shorter? ErnestKrause (talk) 00:10, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- I shortened the summary somewhat just now. It is now below 700 words, which I think makes it compliant with the summary rules? If not, what more can I do to shorten it? The previous version was quite shoddy. Douglas Firs (talk) 00:23, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
- If its under 700 words now then you can take the tag off of the section, and state its now under 700 words in the edit history comment field. It might help to check in from time to time to make sure that other editors do not add in too many details since your version of the plot seems to work.
