Wrong. Please don't revert constructive edits.
You are wrong about John Gutfreund. Please read the actual article. The quote contains "fucking." Removing it is bowdlerizing reality.
“No,” he said, “I think we can agree about this: Your fucking book destroyed my career, and it made yours.”

TfD nomination of Bubble tea
Hi, why did you change your opinion from Strong Keep to Keep? GT5162 (我的对话页) 19:03, 3 April 2009 (UTC)

AWB: Slow down
Please slow down with your AWB edits. The tool is not supposed to be used beyond a few edits a minute. Ten edits a minute is inappropriate using AWB. either way (talk) 18:33, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

- It's not just about checking them, it's also about flooding the recent changes feed. High rate edits are done with bots usually to stop them from displaying in the default recent changes feeds. either way (talk) 18:46, 5 April 2009 (UTC)

- Without checking your contributions...if you are going to go through a lot (several hundred/thousand) of similar edits w/ AWB, you may wish to consider getting a bot approved. Bot edits don't show up in recent changes so they can be done as fast as you like. Yes, do slow down please. This edit[2] looks like it was done by a bot, since a live person reading the passage would not have changed a direct quote, and a live person would have noticed that it's ok for 4,494 "years" to "pass away". Making those years "die" is rather odd. Priyanath talk 17:41, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

AWB
How the fuck do I use this? Seems like the manual was written out for someone who already knows how to use the program. I'm completely lost and can't do anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TravisAF (talk) 02:54, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, I'll explain it step-by-step. First, in the "Make list" section, create a list of articles you want to process. In the options section, edit the settings for skipping and editing articles. After you've set your settings, click Start and it will start processing. Then, you will have the option of editing the article, and pressing "Ignore" or "Save". -download | sign! 02:56, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Maybe it's just me, but this program seems painfully slow in fixing typos. Huggle feels like light-speed compared to this. Am I doing something wrong? You seem to have such ridiculous success. 03:09, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- Well, it depends on the articles you choose. If you made your list of articles from, for example, Category:All articles needing copy edit, then there would be more articles with typos in them. -download | sign! 03:13, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
So I've ignored 628 pages and made 25 edits. How can I possibly hope to get anywhere near as many edits as you when I'm going that slow? :( TravisAF (talk) 03:26, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- That is very slow. About one-third of all the articles in my list have typos that I fix. However, I'm doing the exact same thing, usually making a list from Category:All articles needing copy edit and making general fixes and typo fixes. -download | sign! 03:29, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
Could you clarify how exactly you go about making your list from that category? I must be doing something wrong. TravisAF (talk) 03:33, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- In the "Source" drop-down menu, choose "Category". Then, in the blank below, enter "All articles needing copy edit". Then click make list. You should now have a list of all the articles in the category. Alternatively, you could choose "Google search" or "Wiki search (text)". Then, in the field below you could enter any commonly mispelled word to find the typos. You would then have a list of articles with that typo. I use WP:List of common misspellings for that. Hope that helps! -download | sign! 19:48, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
What all jazz under Options/More/Disambig/etc. do you enable or disable? TravisAF (talk) 22:21, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- You could choose to enable that depending on your purpose. You don't really need the disambiguation options, so leave that alone. In options, you could choose whether you want to auto-tag pages with tags such as {{stub}} and toggle other options. To do typo fixing, choose "Enable RegEx TypoFix". In the skip options, choose when to skip an article. For example, I choose the options "edit blocked by spam filter", "no changes are made", "only minor genfixes", and "page is redirect". -download | sign! 22:30, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
