Thank you Dr Akbar. This has greatly improved the Sherani District article. I fixed a few minor formatting issues so the references section is better now. Do you know if there is an article in the Urdu Wikipedia or the Balochi Wikipedia on this area?

Sherani District and Harifal

edit

Hello! Thank you for your contributions to the articles Sherani District and Harifal! Places like Pakistan are underrepresented on Wikipedia, so it's good to see that you are working to improve our coverage of your country. One thing I notice is that you use a lot of lot of line breaks in your editing; this is fine, but if you want you can also use an empty line to create a new paragraph, as described here; this might make your articles a little bit easier to read. Thanks again, and keep up the good work! If you have any questions or if there is anything I can help you with, feel free to contact me at my talk page. --Cerebellum (talk) 01:26, 26 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for telling me, I've fixed the error now - it looks like the same material was cited twice, and I accidentally removed the first citation. When I have time I will continue to work on the article - it is good already and very informative, but I am just trying to help bring it in line with Wikipedia's style guidelines. You'll notice that I have condensed some sections, so please let me know if I have removed any important information. Thank you :) --Cerebellum (talk) 20:31, 28 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Welcome to Wikipedia. However, I'm noticing some citation and formatting issues. I understand that you have had complaints from other editors about your formatting. Unspecified source for File:Sain kamal khan.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading File:Sain kamal khan.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:08, 19 March 2012 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? --Sprinting faster (talk) 19:08, 19 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Sain kamal khan.jpg

edit

A tag has been placed on File:Sain kamal khan.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. File:Sain kamal khan.jpg

edit

I got your message on my talk page about this file. I'm afraid that under current copyright law it is certain that someone owns the copyright to this photo. There is no such thing as a recent photo with 'no copy rights attached'.

The default is that the photographer owns the copyright. If the photo ends up posted on a website with no details about who owns the copyright then that makes it harder to get permission to post it on wikipedia - because you don't know who to write to to ask permission. If you don't get permission from the photographer then the photo will be deleted from Wikipedia.

I suggest you the photographer and ask him to upload the photo via Commons:Upload.

If the file is uploaded by someone besides the photographer then the uploader needs to make sure to confirm who the photographer is and to confirm that the photographer is happy for their photo to be used all over the internet (not just by Wikipedia).

Hope this helps filceolaire (talk) 18:39, 21 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hello Dr. Akbar, I got your note on my talk page. I'm afraid that filceolaire is correct here - unless you took the picture yourself, it is copyrighted, and we need to have permission from the photographer. Where did you get the photo from? Maybe if we know the source we can track down the photographer and get permission.
Images really aren't my specialty so I don't know how helpful I'll be in this situation, but I will try to take a look at the article pretty soon and see if I can help out with formatting and copy editing. Thanks for contacting me, though, and for your continued contributions! --Cerebellum (talk) 16:38, 22 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Sain Kamal Khan Sherani

edit

The article Sain Kamal Khan Sherani has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Nothing apparently notable, and the references are peripheral to the subject.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
